Scenes From the Weekend

What did Elle See this weekend? Turns out, I saw and did A LOT!

Friday, we went to the Starlight Drive In. I haven't been to one of these since I was a kid! We saw Eclipse, and I was kinda disappointed. I loved watching the movie under the stars, with the sound of the cicadas, and the fireflies blinking by. The weather was perfect. I could've fallen asleep right there.

Saturday, we saw the Joan Rivers doc "A Piece of Work." It was great and an interesting look into her life. We also sat around the pool and ate boiled peanuts. I thought everyone in the South has heard of these, but it turns out anytime I've mentioned them to someone in Atl, they haven't!

For the 4th, I wore this outfit previously seen for Cinco de Mayo. We had brunch and watched the runners from the Peachtree Road Race. It seemed everything was decorated patriotically--even this gorilla that moves! He's the mascot of the "Two Minit Car Wash" and practically an Atl landmark.

Fireworks are illegal to purchase in Georgia, but luckily Atlanta always has several fireworks' shows to watch, since only big productions are allowed to have them. We sat on the roof and watched 6 different shows at the same time. I didn't know which way to look! I loved seeing the Atl skyline with the fireworks above it. Here's some obligatory fireworks pictures. I love how my camera has a "fireworks" setting, but they all turned out weird. I'm sharing fireworks from the Macy's Fireworks at Lenox and the fireworks from Centennial Park.

How was your weekend? Did you get your fill of BBQ? Did you shoot some fireworks?

  17. The firework effect came out great! Love the "squiggly" colors :) I saw Eclipse too, but I was disappointed, especially since New Moon (IMO) sucked! This was definitely better than the last one.
