So yesterday I posted about my 80s John Hughes party. I think choosing the outfit took me longer than planning the party itself. I chose the movie Pretty in Pink as my inspiration. My criteria included a--using what's in my closet already (budget-friendly) and b--not dressed the same as everyone else. I also wanted to modernize it a bit. I love how Andie's character wears this black blazer in several scenes (mine is from the scene in the courtyard) and in a variety of different ways. I think I recreated this outfit pretty well, including the hat pin and pocket scarf. And who doesn't look cool in Ray Bans?

The funny thing is that most of our fashion today is so "80's inspired" that this looks like a modern day outfit :) I love it and I would totally rock this look!
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is amazing! I love the black-and-white colour palette with just a touch of pink. It screams spring to me, and I'm definitely looking forward to trying it myself when the weather warms up.
