For November, I wanted to be UBER THANKFUL!
Grade: A
Notes: I feel weird sharing all of the things I did/said over the month. I don't want it to seem like I'm bragging or something--look what I DID! Look AT ME! Blah. That's not why I did it. Here are a few things I did:
- I did a verbal and written list of something I was thankful for daily.
- I forgave someone--and that was really hard to do. I think I'm still in progress there.
- I donated clothes to Goodwill.
- I helped collect coats for the Men's Home.
- I helped with a canned food drive.
- I helped knit hats for cancer patients.
- I gave a stranger gas money.
- I edited an unemployed friend's resume.
Would I do this again?
Certainly. We need to stop spending so much time complaining, and realize how lucky we are. Even in our darkest days, we are still so fortunate.

To wrap up the year, I chose something completely random for December: stop eating red meat for a month. This stemmed from having food poisoning so many times this year. I just cannot take being sick anymore.
I'm also going completely meatless once a week.
And I'm only eating out once a week (this one I have already failed!)
What's something good you've done for others lately?
What are your resolutions for next year?

I really loved reading about your monthly resolutions, I think it's a great thing to do, really makes you focus every month instead of just on January 1st

That is so awesome you are an inspiration! My resolution for next year is to be kinder to MYSELF. I'm mine own worst enemy and I need to get better at that.
ReplyDeleteMy resolution is to train more seriously for my race in February. And start for a half marathon after that.
ReplyDeleteHow are you enjoying going meatless? We love it. We've been almost 100% vegetarian for a few months now.
Nice work!!! You don't sound like you are bragging...in fact, I think it's inspirational for others to see what you did! I love that you gave a stranger gas money.
ReplyDeleteWell done! Hm, I haven´t decided what my goals for next year are yet, have to think about it for a while. :-)
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great list! And good luck with the no red meat - I went vegetarian two years ago (I try to be mostly vegan but I still cave for eggs and cheese sometimes) and it was one of the best things I've ever done for myself.

ReplyDeletei have been thinking hard about my resolutions for next year and i wanna try and focus on way i can help others in my resolutions instead of just ways i can help myself.

You did so well dear, oh my! Yes, it is also great to just be give thanks, inspire with no complaining, life's too short. Have a very happy holiday to you.
ReplyDeleteI think you should continue this series. Such a great way to set little goals throughout the year and stay motivated. I definitely need to impose a rule about eating out once a week on myself.
ReplyDeleteoh wow, what a neat way to do this. This is the first I've seen of your installation- I really like it. Always love being grateful and nice of you to try no red meat!
ReplyDeleteoh Elle - first off I'm so sorry you've had food poisoning so many times. I used to have the same problem. I try and stay away from weird meats and too many cheeses. I will only eat meat from a cow and a chicken.
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you for reminding us of what's important. I gotta remember to do a random nice act more often.
Cheers sweetie! have a lovely christmas!
