Dreamy dark shades and festive holiday colors adorn my nails in fall and winter, leaving behind a dark stain. No matter how much polish remover I apply, I'm always stuck with a stained, yellow nail. Not cute! Instead of painting my nails to hide the color (and make the staining worse), I'm using the same ideas for cleaning my teeth. These methods really work! Read on:
Method 1:
- Try a brightening toothpaste & scrub those nails with a toothbrush.
Method 2:
- Pour a little baking soda into a bowl.
- Add enough hydrogen peroxide to the baking soda to make a paste.
- Mix and scrub nails.
- Rinse and repeat until nails are clean!
Optional:
- I didn't use it for this tutorial (I've used it since) but to make your edges look whiter, run a white pencil, like the one I shared here, underneath the edges.
Note:
- These methods will not work for discolored nails due to medical conditions.
good tip - did not know - it try thr toothpaste for sure :) I usually just give it a week and it fads away :) le xox
ReplyDeletehmmmm-great tips. wonder if these same concoctions will finally whiten the blood stains out of the walls.

oh, that's something I'll try as well, if needed. I usually don't keep the nail polish too many days and let the nails breath in between with maybe just a top coat or something like that.. but good tip!
ReplyDeleteI need to do this asap!
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing how many uses there is for Baking Soda! My nails are bare at the moment, I'm trying to decide what color to use next - maybe something new! :)
ReplyDeleteThank goodness! I must say though, I haven't painted my nails in a long time. Maybe today!
ReplyDeleteIn between painting my nails I usually leave my nails sans polish for a few days but, even so, they do get discolored sometimes...I should try this.
ReplyDeleteI recently got some gold glitter polish that I'm wearing right now - it's a light, sparkly look.
