Every once in a while I list the little things that have me Smitten. Enjoy.
The holidays are a flurry of activity, glitter, and sequins, all of which I adore. But in January I like to embrace the Winter Calm.
Normally, I'm all over some statement necklaces, but lately I've been smitten with this teeny tiny necklace I won. It's so delicate and lovely.
{sally hansen complete salon manicure in shell we dance}
I'm giving my beloved glitter nails a break and enjoying this light pink shade (my dupe for Essie's Ballet Slippers).
{wet n wild eyeshadow trio in walking on eggshells}
I've been calming down my eyeshadow instead of a heavy smokey eye, and I love these light brown neutral shades.
{makeup forever lip gloss in pearly nude and revlon colorburst lipstick in soft nude}
After wearing red lipstick for my brother's wedding, Christmas, and NYE, I wanted something barely there, and I'm smitten with these lippies. Note: never use "lippies" in a sentence again.
{annual/party tradition of coffee beans & vanilla tea light candles)
I have a candle for just about every season/occasion. However, it's about this time of year when I need a little scent detox, so coffee beans + vanilla tea light candles it is! The metal tea lights heat the beans for a comforting scent & the vanilla is subtle and calming. Bonus tips: I use this duo or this whenever I host a party to ward off the smokers' scent when they come inside.
{ikea milk frother, $2.99}
My January resolution is to not shop--it'll help save money. Another way I'm saving money is by making my coffee treats at home using this milk frother. It's amazing, cheap, and matches my kitchen. How did I get along without it?
What has you Smitten lately?
PS: What hair tutorials would you like to see on here? Leave looks/styles/celebs below!
I agree with the eye shadow. I've been really in to neutral tones lately also.
ReplyDeleteMaybe a tutorial on how to use nude shades. Like, subtle ways to wear it or mix it with other colors.
Some times a plain old nude shade looks great with a little pop of color in the crease or outside of the eye.
I should not shop for a month, but if I tell myself that it just makes me want to do it more.
ReplyDeleteI should not shop for a month, but if I tell myself that it just makes me want to do it more.
ReplyDeleteI have been skipping my usual smoky eye too, for more neutral shades but with a little glimmer or warmth, and I love your picks!
ReplyDeleteThat's a fantastic idea about the vanilla tea lights in coffee beans! I bet it smells wonderful. Your little heart necklace is so pretty.

These are amazing items!! I will have to try out the Sally Hansen nail polish. I love a neutral pink shade!
ReplyDeleteSo many good things - I love the necklace. Lately I am smitten with my fringe boots. If only they were work appropriate. Ha!
ReplyDeleteAll great suggestions. I am loving a beeswax pillar candle in a glass cylinder with star anise in the bottom of the glass. Myer lemons are a favorite right now as are clementines. I'm experimenting with pomegranate molasses and will post on it soon. I agree with a more natural approach to makeup.
