The kit retails for about $50-60, but I see that as an investment, as you can do your nails at home, it's quick, and the results last. I highly recommend it.
Here's how to use the gel nail kit:
Remove old polish, file nails, and use the cleaner with the lint-free wipe.
Next, apply the gel primer.
Then, apply a clear coat. Place under the LED lamp for 30 seconds. You'll hear a beep after 30 seconds.
Apply a coat of color. Put under the lamp for 1 minute. My kit came with red. Repeat.
Apply a coat of clear and then under the lamp for 30 seconds.
Use the gel cleanser to remove any moisture.
THAT'S IT!
My nails on Day 17...they finally chipped.
The gel nails are instantly dry, hard, and glossy. I was impressed.
I wanted to try another brand and it worked just as well.
I had many compliments on my nails, and many asked to touch them...kinda odd, right?
N O T E S :
- This is MUCH faster than a regular mani. It only takes a few minutes, and nails are instantly dry.
- Be careful with application. If you get polish on your cuticles/sides of nails, the polish will peel off.
- Be sure to coat polish along the tip and underside of nail, to help the polish last.
- I tried this with my toes and it worked well.
- I also just did a clear coat, and loved the results too.
- I'd recommend this to anyone who wants a lasting mani. I'd especially recommend this to those whose jobs involve their hands being shown (sales, tv reporters, etc).
- This would be great to do before a trip. Your color will last for a couple of weeks! And to remove, peel off the polish or soak nails in acetone for 15 minutes and then gently scrape/peel off. But I peeled mine off every time.
Would you try gel nails? Have you tried them?
17 days is such a great length for a manicure to last :)
ReplyDeletePeople really asked to touch your nails?! hahaha
ReplyDeleteI get the UV manicure every other week. I spend $25 to get it done. Maybe I should invest in my own. Hmmm
I think the instant dry is my fav part.
ReplyDeleteIt does sound like a good investment seeing that a manicure every couple of weeks compared to doing a gel nail manicure yourself...you'd be saving money rather quickly!
ReplyDeleteI want to try this so badly - it looks amaze balls!

I had no idea that gel nail polish lasted such a long time. That's awesome. I hate it when my nail polish chips after a couple of days.

I've seen a lot of people talk about gel nails but didn't know what the fuss was all about. But after 17 days I definitely think they are worth it.
ReplyDeleteThis looks great Elle! My nails always chip the next day but I use regular polish. Do you remove this gel one just like any other polish?
ReplyDeleteOoh, I love this! Sounds like the perfect product for people like me who smudge regular nail polish EVERY TIME! :)
ReplyDeleteHave never tried gel nails before, and with this kit, you make it look so easy. Might give it a try:)
ReplyDeleteI would love to try this! Anything faster is a definite plus in my book.
ReplyDeleteoooh! neat review! I got a gel mani for my wedding and LOVED it...lasted well past the honeymoon at the beach with salt water and sand. Thanks so much for stopping by my blog!

ReplyDeletei wasn't sure what i was looking at at first but that is so cool! i honestly, rarely rarely paint my nails because i hate when they chip about as much as I hate removing the polish... so I just leave them dull all the time, which is nice and ugly. just peeling off polish would be a great option for me.
ReplyDeleteSO COOL. I taught myself to do acrylics in the past so I could have my manicures last for a while, now I really want to try gel nails! 17 days until a chip! Thanks for the tutorial :)
ReplyDeleteWow!! They didn't chip until 17 days in?? That's amazing!
ReplyDeletewow, looks like a gem! love the led lamp most!

so is this lke the shellac? i think this is an awesome investment because it costs anywhere from $30 - $50 for a shellac manicure at the salon and $10 to get it removed. it just kind of freaks me out to peel it off.
