It's summer and you want to do something to your hair. And fast! Well, I've got ya covered. Here's a hairstyle that's quick, gives you a little body & texture, and can be done in 3 minutes. Yes, 3 minutes. Even in my thick hair! The result is hair with a slight wave that's so pretty. Read on:
T O O L S:
- 1 1/2 in or 2 in curling wand (a curling iron of this size will work, but I've found the barrels aren't as long as a wand)
- Heat protectant
- Products--optional (look at the bottom of this post for those!)
M E T H O D:
- Brush dry hair, add heat protectant, and turn on your curling wand.
- Divide hair in half.
- To make this hairstyle fast, take one of the halves and divide it into 3 big sections. This could be 2 to 4 sections depending on thickness of hair. I do 3 on one side, 4 on the other.
- Curl each big section away from your face. Hold for 10-15 seconds, or until you can feel heat all the way through.
- Note, unlike past tutorials, you want no space showing as you wrap the hair around the wand, as awkwardly shown below:
- Rake your fingers through your hair and go! Or you can use one of the options below:
P R O D U C T S:
- Waves Spray--Enhance your waves
- Dry Oil--For those with dry hair, enhance it with this mist. It gives shine and I LOVE it.
- Heat Protectant--NOT AN OPTION; requirement...
- Texturizing Paste--for that piecey look
- Texturizing Powder--for the bedhead look
- Glossing Cream--to smooth it down
- Remington Curling Wand--1 1/2 in I believe
- Don't want to wear your hair down? Use this hairstyle as the basis for a pony or half updo. It gives a little body and texture to hair.

ReplyDeleteguess who bought clip in hair pieces and will have long hair even if for a few days only? hehe
ReplyDeleteyour hair is sooo fantastic! i´m really jealous!!! mine is just getting thinner and thinner!
ReplyDeleteYou always look so gorgeous and pulled together. I need to take a cue from you and actually put effort into my hair in the morning.
ReplyDeletei love my curling wand too!!! i have two - one for tighter curls and one for large waves :) i just need to get the waves spray to keep them in place (they tend to lose their oomph after a few hours because my hair is like teflon)
ReplyDeleteOhh, I love this!! I have a hot date tomorrow and totally think I'm going to rock this style!! Looks easy enough for me :)
ReplyDeleteMine used to do that, then I got a guys cut.
ReplyDeleteI love this tutorial... Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteYour hair always looks SO much better than mine. And my hair also doesn't hold a curl very well, even with max hold hair spray. Any suggestions?
ReplyDeletenice hair tutorial, i'll try that tomorrow, too!

ReplyDeleteLooks great! It's been so hot here that I've been lazy and just putting my hair into a headband all the time. This would totally work with one!
ReplyDeleteI cheat and just do a ponytail. I suck.

Will have to try! Straightening my hair in the summer is such a waste of time...it ends up wavy/curly again in 10 minutes anyways.
ReplyDeleteLove this and love your hair! Thanks for your compliment on my blog! Have a wonderful weekend!

Oh how pretty your hair looks! And 3 minutes works just fine for me :)
ReplyDeleteHope you had a great week and holiday, Elle! xoxo
I never, ever, ever want to heat up a curling wand in the morning. Even if a hairstyle is five minutes, I feel like it's still five minutes too long. I think it's because I'm too unused to doing hair.
ReplyDeleteYour hair looks fantastic...wow!
ReplyDeleteThese hair styling tips are my fav posts--possibly because I'm so lost in this department. I might give this one a whirl...I think I still have a wand from my bridesmaid hair.
ReplyDeleteDo you want to just come to Chicago and fix my hair for me?? Ugh, your hair looks amazing! Can't wait to try this tutorial. :)
ReplyDelete- Heather
