Last Minute Christmas Glitter Gel Nails

So. I had 10 grand ideas for Christmas nails (one for each finger, of course), ranging from easy to fancy-pants. I had my stripers (see? fancy!) and polishes all lined up and ready to go when I got a text reminding me about the Christmas party in 30 minutes! Oops. I already had red gel nails from my sister's wedding on Friday. And while that would've been perfectly fine for the party, I decided to (a) add some sparkle (b) still get a blog post out of it (c) I also get questions about if glitter can be added to gel nails, and this post should answer that! Five minutes, done, and off to the party!

T O O L S
  • red or green polish (For this tutorial, I'm using gel nails, but these aren't required)
  • glitter polish (I used gold, because it showed up the best in pics, but multi-colored glitter is a fave)
  • gel clear coat for gel nails (or clear coat if not gel)
  • led lamp


M E T H O D

Add glitter polish to gel nails. Allow to dry.
Just a little bit of glitter?

Maybe just a little bit more?

Maybe just the accent nail?

Seal with gel clear coat and lamp. 

How about all of them? It's Christmas!

    I used to only wear gel polish. Then I realized that I like to change my polish daily eek. They are awesome for longevity! Pretty mani!

    I generally paint my nails red or a bright summery colour since it is summer during the Christmas period here in Australia. I've never really experimented with glitter nail polish but yours looks jolly good :)
