November in a Nutshell (And a Giveaway!)

Happy Monday and happy December! How was your weekend? I finally got my apartment decorated for Christmas. I also had a little get together to watch the SEC Championship and my Dawgs fall so short of winning. I wrapped up the weekend by going out with a group of friends I'd not seen in a while.

Lately I've received disappointment on here because I don't post enough about my life. This cracks me up because I used to do just that, and then I would get comments about how all I do is talk about myself, so I stopped. Flergh. I instead pepper my posts with bits about my life, leaving the bulk of it to Twitter and Instagram. But I understand and appreciate the inquiry, so I've decided to do a monthly post wherein I share highs and lows. If desired, I'll make it weekly. And to keep you interested, I'm including some random Instagram pics AND a giveaway! So here's November in a Nutshell:

{Randoms via Instagram: selfie, hair & nails}

Grumbly Hateful (aka Lows): A low this month was knowing it was my first holiday without my Great Granny Sugar. It was bittersweet. Also, for whatever reason, November was the month when the meanies came and visited my blog. Now, I'm all for constructive criticism if it can help better my blog. But just pure meanness based on my appearance? Uncalled for. I totally get that I need to "get over it" but because it was all of a sudden it hurt! And so the thick skin develops. But onto the highs of the month!

{Randoms via Instagram: I'm crazy because Charlie has pjs, cake pop,
first fire of the season, cocoa with Lil Sis, Macy's Parade, movie}

Humbly Grateful (aka Highs): November is always a good month! October is my birthday, autumn begins, and it flies by all too quickly, but November holds that bit of calm before Thanksgiving and the holiday season gets underway, and I'm grateful. I took the time to reflect and be thankful, by posting my #30DaysofThankful on Instagram. I had a great Thanksgiving visiting family and it was my nephew's 4th birthday. I also hit 1000 followers on my blog and some of my biggest daily views ever! I'm also thankful for your support via visits, sweet comments, and emails. Next time, hopefully the mean comments will roll off my back.

To show my thanks, here's a giveaway, hosted by BlueBird Bride! She's offering a $20 giftcard to her shop to one lucky winner! Bluebird Bride offers a variety of necklaces and earrings, perfect for you or as a present! Just look at some of the cute pieces in her shop:

  13. Elle, I do wish you would do of this....I love seeing my fave bloggers talk about what's happening to them:) Those haters...argh!!! I've said it before, but the anonymity of the internet seems to bring out the worst in some out there, and all we can do is just really ignore. I get them in real life, which is harder:P
