First up is Simple--Sensitive Skin Experts. If you're looking for basic, easy-on-the-skin skincare, I suggest you check them out. I've reviewed other Simple Skin products here.
- Exfoliating Facial Wipes--I found these to be pre-moistened super exfoliating and they made my skin red. Instead, I use them on my feet to exfoliate. I use them to wipe off makeup from my hands and when wearing super heavy makeup or sunscreen. Those who are in the entertainment/theatre industry will love these.
- Refreshing Facial Wash Gel--This is a wonderful, nice, and easy gel wash. It's very cooling and washes away the day's makeup effectively. I use it with my Clarisonic or with a cloth and have had no negative effects. It's very gentle.
- Simple Eye Makeup Remover--This remover is gentle and feels almost like water. It didn't irritate my eyes or leave that film on my eyes--you know what I mean?
- Vital Vitamin Day and Night Creams--The Day formula is naturally a thinner version of the Night. Both work great as basic moisturizers and I experienced no break outs.
I was also sent Pond's products, a company many of us are familiar with, but check out the Luminous Clean line:
- Wet Cleansing Towelettes--These have soft white Kaolin clay in them, which works to draw out trapped makeup and impurities. These broke me out twice out of the four times I used them (I'm talking a pimple or two since I don't have acne) so I no longer used them. I generally have this reaction to clay as my skin is very dry, so those with oily skin will probably fare better.
- Daily Exfoliating Cleanser--This also has clay but didn't irritate my skin nor cause me to break out any time I used it. It's a pearlescent cream with gentle microbeads. It is a great exfoliating cleanser that isn't drying.
Have you tried either of these skin care lines? What do you use? Is your skin oily, dry, or combo?
PS: This week's The 52 Project challenge is to moderately exercise 5 days this week. Last week's challenge of keeping my chin parallel to the ground has been going well!
I love the Simple stuff after being recommended by a friend! My face can get quite shiny..err, oily. haha!
ReplyDeleteI used to use Simple when I was living in Ireland, I spotted some products here in Finland as well, but now I moved on to some other brands.. Simple are quite ok, I think I only had make up remover and some face cream at the time.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reviews! Good luck exercising this week! You can do it!

i'm loving the kiehl's skincare line right now!
ReplyDeleteGreat reviews - I have oily skin so Ponds may work for me... and Rex has the same thing - it's his Patellas (or knees) that can pop in and out of place... it happens a lot and usually it naturally goes back into place. But sometimes it's painful for them and it breaks your heart. And there's really nothing you can do! Glad he's better - so scary when that happens!

Great idea to use the Simple wipes on your feet! If something doesn't work for me, I just throw it out. I'll be sure to remember this.

I use Pond's Luminous Clean cream cleanser and I LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteI've been curious about the Simple line but have always put off trying because I was too worried it would be too harsh on my skin - I feel like I should check it out now!

ReplyDeleteThese products sound great!! I'll have to give them a try! xo, Julie
ReplyDeleteI'm an avid fan of the Simple line! It dominates my daily skincare line up! Plus the price makes my wallet happy!
ReplyDeleteI used both of them in the past. Ponds was actually one of the very first creams I've ever bought. :) x
ReplyDeleteThese sound great -- I also have sensitive skin so good to know these didn't irritate :)
ReplyDeleteSimple has always worked well for me when I've used them. Really great line. I hope Charlie gets better :) Have a gorgeous week doll :) xx

Really want to try that Simple line. And hugs to Charlie. Hope his knee turns out ok.
ReplyDeleteHope Charlie feels well soon, haven't tried these out before but the exfoliating wipes sound really good!
ReplyDeleteAwww! Poor Charlie! Glad its okay though, I would have been freaking out! I haven't tried either... I have very oily skin so it is always about finding the best product that controls that without over drying my skin!
ReplyDeleteI really like your blog so I am now following you! Stop by and follow back if you like.
ReplyDeleteAw glad Charlie is ok. My husband and I love Sons of Anarchy, it's such a great show. I haven't tried these products yet. I tend to have drier skin in the winter, but it's not bad.

I just picked up some of the Simple products around Christmas, but I haven't tried them yet. Thanks for reminding me of them now I'll have to dig them out and use them.
ReplyDeleteHi sweets! Awh poor Charlie :( I hope he's ok.
ReplyDeleteAnd I always love your product reviews. I've tried the Simple products but not this Pond's line yet. Will have to check it out.
Hope you're doing well, love! xoxo
I have combo skin, and I've tried some Pond's products, and worked ok, but never tried Simple products!

I'm a massive fan of simple. I use the face wipes and love them. Need to try the make up remover.
ReplyDeleteI have tried Simple's face wash - it wasn't my favorite though. I've always wanted to try Pond's. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on these products! :)
ReplyDeleteI really like the Simple line, it's nice.
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to try out that Ponds cleanser! I love their products, especially the cold cream. Glad to hear you liked it!
ReplyDeleteLove that you have a weekly exfoliating ritual :) The Ponds Daily Cleanser sounds lovely as I'm terrible at remembering to exfoliate. Thanks for these reviews - it's so nice to read about products I can actually afford!
ReplyDeleteMy mom swears by Pond's cold cream -- and it does work well to remove makeup. I haven't ever tried any of their other products, though.
ReplyDeleteOhhh I need to hop on that eye makeup remover. I'm so sorry about Charlie...I hope he's 100% soon and that the problem doesn't return! I'm also really sorry about the Falcons. With the Steelers not even in the playoffs I was really rooting for them. I don't want to cheer for our rivals, Baltimore, but I also don't want the 49ers to have as many rings as us. :p
ReplyDeleteOo, I haven't tried any of these...
ReplyDeleteGlad your doggy isn't worse off. How did you like "Sons of Anarchy"? I tried to get into it but couldn't. Too violent.
ReplyDeletecleansing towelettes are so great!
ReplyDeletei was kind of sad to see that simple had parabens in some of their products, no so simple Xo Megan, www.TfDiaries.com
ReplyDeleteI've bought SImple Skin & Dove products, great reviews on both! :)
ReplyDeleteI got the Simple Eye Makeup Remover in my Glossybox a few months ago and absolutely love it!
ReplyDeleteI love simple!!
