Hey you! We have made it to the weekend, my friends. How was your week? If your week wasn't great, maybe you need some retail therapy to cheer you up? Before you go, check out some of my latest purchases from the drugstore over the past two months. Enjoy.
Nails:
- Rimmel Cocktail Colour (Baby Bellini)--Gorgeous, shimmery purple that takes only one coat and dries quickly. Love it and wearing it in the video.
- Sally Hansen Sugar Coat (Bubble Plum)--Pretty color but don't like the texture.
- Sally Hansen Fuzzy Coat (Tweedy and Fuzz-Sea)--Fun, textured polishes in several colors.
Bottom pic--I brushed on and then patted on color so you could see the difference.
Lips:
Maybelline Baby Lips Electro Collection (Pink Shock)--Comes in several neon colors but they are not neon on the lips. Sheer to visible pigmentation depending on your lip color. Once the brightness fades away, you're left with a pretty stain. I really liked this one.
Rimmel Show Off Lip Laquers (Nova, Galaxy, Out of This World)--A cross between a lipstick and gloss. Long wearing, lots of color options, and heavily pigmented.
Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss in New Packaging (Kiss Me Coral, Peach Pango)--I had to Google what a "pango" is and it's a pineapple mango. And now I'm hungry, but back to the glosses. New packaging that is larger than the previous packaging. Does that mean more product? Doubtful, but the glosses are gorgeous. The peach might be too sheer for heavily pigmented lips.
Luminizer:
Rimmel Wake Me Up Instant Radiance Shimmer Touch (Peach Glow)--This is luminizer is way too shimmery for me and is hard to remove. I tried it several ways but I like it better as a glow for legs in the summer. Would not repurchase.
Swatched, product rubbed in, container
Mascaras & Liner (all in black):
Rimmel Scandal Eyes Curve Alert--Similar to the original Scandal Eyes but with a curved brush. I didn't notice a difference. I like it but wouldn't repurchase.
Milani Total Lash Cover--This has a bizarre 3-zone brush with this nub on the end. I don't like this mascara. The wand is too short and the nub got me in the eye!
Milani Runway Lashes--Decent volume, wouldn't repurchase
Milani Power Lash--Huge brush and nice volume...like it a lot!
Maybelline The Falsies Big Eyes--LOVE THIS MASCARA! The bottom lashes wand is great and the top lashes wand gives great defined volume. Skip waterproof.
Covergirl Ink It Liner--Twist up waterproof liner. Great for waterlines--it really lasts!
Hair:
Got 2 B Smooth Operator Luster Lotion
L'Oreal Smooth Intense Xtreme Straight Creme
- Ok, these aren't "new" but I wanted to see if anyone else has tried them OR if they have a better suggestion. I am still on the hunt for a replacement for my beloved, discontinued Sunsilk Straighten Up. Haven't reviewed either of these, but of course will update once I do.
Need more details on the products listed above? Check out my (15th!!) video below:
Have a great weekend! Be safe, behave, and be well. Love, Elle
I've been eyeing the neon baby lips but was always hesitant that they'd give me a neon lip! Definitely going to grab it up next time though! xx

The Got 2 B hair lotion, honestly doesn't do anything at all to my hair. But it smells good! Sadly I still have 3 bottles of it. -_- Darn Walgreens and their buy one get one free!
ReplyDeleteI am running out to buy that Maybelline mascara this weekend! And that lip gloss looks so pretty.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I haven't tried it, but I noticed that L'Oreal has a bunch of newer styling products. Maybe one of those would replace your Sunsilk?
I love love LOVE Rimmel's products! Gonna get me some new polishes and mascaras!
ReplyDeleteSeems like you got some awesome goodies , I love the lip items .
ReplyDeleteThank you for the review, darling! x
ReplyDeleteWow, you are on top of it!! I'm always super behind on what's out.
ReplyDeleteTHat Maybelline Electro Collection sounds good! A retail therapy is always a good thing:D
ReplyDeleteI saw the Sally Hansen textured polishes at Target and was curious. Tks for reviewing them.
ReplyDeleteWow! Those fuzzy Sally Hansen polishes and the Rimmel lip products look awesome...I haven't seen them this side of the border, so I'll have to add them to my US shopping list! :)

Just wondering, but did you suggest to skip waterproof for Maybelline's The Falsies? This mascara and CG's Ink It Liner both sound like products that I would want to try after hearing your reviews! :)
ReplyDelete@Emily, I suggested to skip the waterproof version of the Big Eyes mascara. It's officially called Maybelline the Falsies Big Eyes. I've not tried the Falsies waterproof version.
ReplyDeleteAhh so many fun new things! I don't know how I feel about that textured nail polish!
ReplyDeleteI've been looking at the rimmel show off glosses, but haven't picked any up yet. I may have to give them a try now. Thanks for the review.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing! Awesome tips!

ReplyDeleteI've had such a stressful week at work so I am definitely ready for the weekend! Seriously what is it about the drug store? I could literally spend hours and hundreds of dollars in there...

Have a great weekend! I really want to try a Fuzzy Coat polish.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh you got ALL of those products?! I am so jealous!
ReplyDeleteI'm really interested in trying the Rimmel Lip Lacquers and the Revlon lip glosses. I'm definitely not liking the textured nail polish trend...it seems a bit cheap to me :(
Wonderful video and blog post!!

I haven't purchased cosmetics in a shamefully long time! I am in need of some new mascara, but I'm always hesitant to try new ones. The classic Mabelline variety in the pink and green tube works, so I stick to it. But maybe I should be adventurous this time. And get some Peach Pango, too! What a pretty color!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your suggestions! I definitely don't need any new polish, but I need to replace a couple of lip products, so I think I'll try both the Rimmel and Maybelline ones.
ReplyDeleteSo cool cosmetics and vidéo ^^

ReplyDeleteI have to try the fuzy nail polish! I am very curious!
ReplyDeleteI'm on the fence about Sally Hansen's Sugar Coat. I want to like it, but...
ReplyDeleteI've forgotten that I really wanted to try those Revlon Lip Glosses! Lemmings again!
ReplyDelete7% Solution
Love those Sally Hansen shades!!
ReplyDeleteHey so looking at these gloss/lipstick options you mention makes me wonder... do you have a recomendation for a lip gloss that isn't super sticky (like more of a thin coat, not so gloopy like some I've tried), has a bit of shimmer, and is in a light pink? Have you come across anything like that?
ReplyDeleteThanks for your visit, have a great week ahead!
ReplyDeleteThe Cocktail Colour and Falsies are on my shopping list now. I've been pretty curious about the Fuzzy Coat polish.

ReplyDelete@Lindsay Thanks for your recc but I shared the product you suggested in this haul!!!!
@RAchh I suggest the Revlon glosses
@Sarah Mcc That is a great mascara. Rimmel makes one to grow lashes that you might like too.
@Ashley Thanks! I kept the receipt!

ReplyDeletehow do we get jobs naming beauty products?! would love to do that!
I don't know if you can get John Frieda products in the states, but they have a huge range of hair products, for anti frizz, straight hair, curly hair, you name it, they've got it!
