Hey you! I'm back with another edition of This or That, where I compare two similar products. Today I thought I'd mix it up and share two products from the same brand. I originally shared these with you in my Winter Drugstore Haul (see it here).
L'Oreal Extraordinaire by Colour Riche (in Coral Encore)
- What they say: transform lips from ordinary to extraordinary. Color is richer, lip surface is smoother and shine is magnified. Formulated with precious micro-oils and rich color pigments, Extraordinaire provides the ideal balance of color and care for perfect lips. The unique soft-touch applicator allows for a silky-smooth, gliding application.
- 16 shades
- $9.99
- beautiful long-lasting color
- love the texture
- not too sticky
- no scent
.L'Oreal Colour Caresse Wet Stain (In Rose On and On)
- They say: Discover a stain that thinks it’s a gloss. Now hydration & shine meet lasting, lightweight color. Colour Caresse Wet Shine Stain combines the power of a lip stain with lip-gloss luster. This next generation lip stain, formulated with a blend of light hydrating oils & concentrated pigments, delivers lasting color with a glossy finish. Packed with 30% water, Colour Caresse Wet Shine Stain leaves lips soft, comfortable and hydrated for up to 6 hours.
- 12 shades
- $9.99
- beautiful color when swatched
- thin consistency that sinks into lips
- nice texture
- noticeable smell on applicator
- great as a base stain
This or That?
- Hands down, I love the Extraordinaire by Colour Riche. It's super pigmented, feels nice on the lips, gives a glossy look but without the stickiness. It lasted the longest as well. I would repurchase!
- I did like the Colour Caresse, and like wearing it on my "no makeup" days, but felt I didn't get the lasting color pay off I was hoping for. I would repurchase but only if in a different shade--this one looked too natural.

Wonderful review, Elle! Haven't bought any L'Oreal lipsticks for a while, but quite like the look of the second one, because as you said, it looks very natural and the hue looks really pretty. x
ReplyDeleteI wasn't too impressed with the wet stain, it just lacked pigmentation for me so I*m very curious about trying this instead :o) Xx

Hello boo!
ReplyDeleteI only tried the Caresse one in a very intense fuchsia shade, and it was good, now need to try the other one to compare them <3

ReplyDeleteI was actually debating buying the Extraordinaire Color Riche lip products when I was at Target yesterday. I really want to try them but I had a bunch of other stuff to buy so I put those back to buy on another day. Now I'm pissed that I didn't get them!! Looks like I'll be taking another trip to Target today. hahaha. Thanks for the review, girl!!

This is a great comparison! I love L'Oreal liners but sadly for some reason I haven't tried much lip products from them. I will check these out next time.
ReplyDeleteBeautetude
I LOVE that coral color! I feel like that's a great summer color for that sun kissed look! I'm going to have to try the Extraordinaire!

This type of post is SO useful to other women you have no idea! Thank you so much for your thorough review (and the reminder to wear a little color on the days I wear a little less makeup!) xo
ReplyDeleteI love this or that posts!! I will definitely try the extraordinaire one, I wasn't a huge fan of the wet shine!
ReplyDeleteI prefer the extraordinair as well. I have the shade Blushing Harmony and it has become an absolute favorite!

good to know! they are both pretty colors! xo jillian - cornflake dreams
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reviews! I've seen both and wondered why the packaging was so similar! I'm definitely up for trying the Extraordinaire!
ReplyDeleteBoth shades are really pretty, though. I usually go with mauve/brownish types of colors. Ones that are close to my natural lip color.
ReplyDeleteAwesome review, I love getting recommendations from fellow beauty users!
ReplyDeletethanks for this review, I love lipgloss and lip stick!
ReplyDeleteI have a few of the Colour Riches and I love 'em! They glide on so smoothly + have great color pay-off. :)

I still have yet to pick up the Extroardinaire! Just waiting for it to hit my Ulta!
ReplyDeleteNice comparison. It is amazing what a little bit of good lip gloss can do.
ReplyDeleteNice. I like the colors!
ReplyDeletei am a sucker for lip stains and glosses...it's nice to know this so i don't spend a ton of money on something i will never wear!
ReplyDeleteI love glosses. The Rose on and on looks like a shade I would like.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the excellent comparison, I personally love the coral hue. It was great hearing your thoughts, Happy Friday dear!
ReplyDeleteI would probably go for the Rose as I already have a lot of color in my lips and this is close to my natural color so would just add some omph.

ReplyDeleteThe coral color is so pretty!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you reviewed two products from the same company. Half the time I don't even know what the product names mean!
ReplyDeleteThe extraordinaire sounds awesome! Thanks for comparing them!

This is freaking weird, I bought those same lippes in your same colors last week! I love both but I also like the Color Riche better. I was planning to review both in one post as well. Ha! Great post!
ReplyDeleteLovely shade! T. http://tickledpinkwomanblogspot.com
ReplyDeleteI am definitely getting the lipstick now!
ReplyDeleteI love the shade of the Extraordinaire you picked. It's so pretty! I am embarrassed to admit I only have 1 lipstick and 2 glosses. I think I need to branch out and try this!
ReplyDeleteThese both look super pretty! I like that you compared two products from the same brand to show how different they are. I might give the Extraordinaire a try. :)
ReplyDeleteI bought a Color Caresse and I wasn't crazy about it either..not worth purchasing.
