- $8.99, .07 oz
- Target stores or Target.com
- 3 shades
- thick, creamy stick concealer
- excellent at coverage, no creasing
That: Smashbox Camera Ready Coverage Concealer
- $20
- various high-end beauty stores and departments and online
- 6 shades
- creamy stick concealer
- light to medium coverage, no creasing
Side By Side: I thought I would show Smashbox and Sonia Kashuk concealers' coverage of a tattoo. Please note that these shades match my face, and not my inner wrist. Also, these are designed for concealing areas on the face, but I had the same results on my inner wrist.
This or That:
- While I love Smashbox products, the fact that they have 6 shades, the coverage just wasn't there for me. Sonia Kashuk came with more product at a much cheaper price, and the coverage was much better.

ReplyDeleteI love your reviews and that came handy to me... I saw a stick concealer that I was or am about to try... but did't think of these two... I think I'll give it a try, cause both looked good, although you say that Smashbox doesn't have many option... I will try the other first, then! Really very handy to me! ReplyDeleteI haven't tried either of those but the Sonya Kashuk one looks great! Would you say these are good for coving acne spots? I use a maybelline cover stick for that right now, but I think I want to try the Sonya Kashuk one!

I really hope Sonia Kashuk expands the color ranges for this concealer. I was at Target just a couple days ago looking for a concealer, but couldn't find anything that suited me. I would be so happy to see them broadening the color range sometime soon. Great review, I agree that the Kashuk concealer looks to be far superior to the Smashbox in terms of coverage.
ReplyDeletefunny story: i bought the sonia kashuk concealer one time and was so excited to try it out. buuuttt the packaging on it was horrible. i literally COULD NOT get the plastic wrapping off of it to open it. when i did finally get the wrapping off, the tube was cracked and the stick was smashed. literally 8 bucks down the drain. that's why i've just stuck with my trusty maybelline concealer... lol it's funny thinking back on it but at the time i was piiiiiissed! lol But now i really wanna try it..maybe the packaging has changed.
ReplyDeleteThe Sonia Kashuk is really impressive - another brand which is new to me!

Sonia Kashuk definitely comes off as the winner here. It looks like the Smashbox one had a bit of crumbling as well in your photo.

I might have to try that Sonia one...I am actually loving those products at Target. The new lotion line is fantastic...love the scent and prefer a couple over any B&BW for sure!
ReplyDeleteOh I'm always looking for a good concealer, I wonder if this will cover undereye circles because most of my concealers don't do such a great job. I will have to check this out next time at target! :)

How do you choose the products? Do you just pick something in the store or do you read other reviews? :)
