I have reviewed over 500 products here on ElleSees--a little bit of everything, not just beauty. It's a detailed and lengthy process (see my Review Policy here) that I enjoy. Some I have purchased and some were PR samples. And while my reviews are honest, I know I've viewed other blogs and wondered if the reviews were positive just to get freebies. Do they actually purchase the items once the sample runs out? I have many times! Today I picked 10 freebies I ended up buying later. I plan on making this a series since I have so many! Enjoy.

2--Pic Monkey--This is what I use to edit my photos on the blog and my Christmas card, as pictured above. Love it and use it daily.
3--Dr. Sponge--Using this Kojak sponge has softened my KP-ridden arms. This is a holy grail product for me!
4--Sensationail Gel Nail Polishes--This is one of my favorite gel nail brands. I've purchased their Fuse brand too!
5--Bare Minerals Pure Brightening Serum Foundation--This is my current fave foundation. Dry to combo skin types should give this a try. I've gone through the samples I was given and recently purchased a darker shade for summer. I've also purchased their glosses!

7--Blue Jeans Bar Express--This is a cool concept I got to try. A stylist personalizes several outfits for you and you only pay for what you keep. No fees or anything! I purchased an amazing pair of jeans that fit me like a glove.
8--Studio Gear Cosmetics--I love their shadow trios and lipsticks!
9--Reebok Skyscapes--I was given the purple pair but loved them so much I had to buy a hot pink pair. Most comfortable shoes I own. And I couldn't resist posting another pic of Charlie. He's doing well, by the way!
10--Clear Hair Care Line--I've bought the shampoo, conditioner, and the awesome hair treatment so many times. When my hair gets "used to" other shampoos, I always go back to this brand.
What products do you purchase over and over?
Bare Minerals Pure Brightening Serum Foundation is something that I have been on the fence about...well, I think it's because I am saving up for a Chanel foundation. LOL! That Reebok sneakers is sooo pretty, I must go and try them on if I see them around here. And glad that Charlie is feeling much better, hugs to both of you!
ReplyDeleteI love the very concept of this post. I know I've been wondering the same thing about beauty reviews - because somehow purely negative comments are very-very rare. I dunno, if it's a good thing, but posts like these are golden and should work brilliantly for your blog!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I have always liked your honesty and love this post. Glad you are making it a series!
ReplyDeleteI love Batiste and Neutrogena! Both those brands are spot on when it comes to hair and beauty. I love neutrogena's foaming face wash! Happy Tuesday :)

ReplyDeleteI really want a pair of those Reebok Skyscapes!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute idea for a post! I've been wanting to try Bare Minerals products for years and just haven't yet! That foundation seriously has me intrigued. I normally wouldn't go for it because my skin tends to be on the oily side but for some reason this year it's been dry/combo and I'm having trouble adjusting haha :)

Great post! I've tried the Clear shampoo and conditioner before and I liked it. I'm still trying to get into the dry shampoo, maybe I'll try that brand out sometime soon!
ReplyDeleteI always love posts like this--it's good to see what samples bloggers actually go out and repurchase! So glad to hear that Charlie is doing well. :)
ReplyDeleteI just got some of that dry shampoo a few weeks ago & it's intense. Much heavier (??) than the Suave dry shampoo I've been using, but I really like it :)
ReplyDeleteOkay, this officially has me wanting to try the Bare Minerals brightening serum! I just re-read your review on it and since you've re-purchased, I'm calling it a win! :)
ReplyDeleteOh I definitely ended up repurchasing a lot of the PR samples as well, mostly skincare products! Just to give you a few examples, I repurchase a lot of Omorovicza and Caudalie stuff, and I absolutely swear by them!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait until my bare minerals powder foundation is gone and I can try the liquid! And I love pic monkey for photos! I recommend it to everyone!
ReplyDeleteI always go back to Loreal mascaras even when I try other drugstore and high end brands!
ReplyDeleteThose Reeboks are so cute! Thanks for sharing all the "winners"!
ReplyDeleteI agree, those reeboks look cute!! Plus I am going to need to try that sponge! Thank you for sharing :)

A big yes on the Neutrogena:D And must really try that Batiste. I'm probably the one person in the planet who has not used it:(
ReplyDeleteI loveee Batiste! I also want to try that sponge. I repurchase over and over my elf makeup wipes, Carins face wash, and Vaseline Cocoa Butter lotion.
ReplyDeleteI love Batiste and it's a freebie I received that I have purchased numerous times since. Also on the blog today I have a review of a product called Sublime Beauty Phytoceramides which I plan on reordering here in a few. Great idea for a post!
ReplyDeleteI want to try Batiste, heard so many good stuff about it.

What are KP arms? My daughter (age 9) has little bumps on the back of her arms. Would this be a good product for her?
ReplyDeleteI love bare mineral!!!

i'm going to go check out your dr. sponge review - sounds great!
ReplyDeleteMAC Fix+ and their eyebrow pencil have been staples for a WHILE now. There's just no comparing them to anything else... addicted for life!
ReplyDeleteI need to try the Bare Minerals foundation!
ReplyDeleteFantastic post Elle! It takes me a while to run out of products since I have so many, but there are some that I know that I will be repurchasing for sure!
ReplyDeleteOk so loving this post and that you are going to continue it! I always wonder if I'm getting the best advice on products when I read reviews and I feel a follow up purchase is definitely a good thing! Love the Batiste dry shampoo - I am relatively new to dry shampoo (a year or so) and kept trying new and "loved" a couple along the way until I tried this. My definite fave!
ReplyDeleteI have so many products that I have purchased just because I got samples and loved them so much. I got sent a pr sample of the Studio Gear CC Cream, and it's working so well for me right now that I will probably buy it when I'm finished. It's great because you get to try things you may not buy at first, and then you wonder how you ever did without them!

I like Neutrogena products and have used them for about 15 years. I have very sensitive skin. I like Maybelline mascara and BB cream. Now you have me wanting to try the Bare Minerals foundation.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that dry shampoo!! It's so great I buy multiple bottles of it at a time!! I love your blog Elle! You're a blessing!
ReplyDelete500?! Good lord girl. You are a machine! haha
ReplyDeleteGood to know what products bloggers actually buy because they love it :)
This is a fantastic post- so true! Only if we purchase it with our own money it is proof that we really love it!!! Awesome post idea- I might copy this! ;-) I personally bought a lot of times things that I have reviewed, for example: Paula´s choice, Dermorganic or Murad. Kisses, Sissi http://www.beauty4free2u.com
ReplyDeleteWhat a great post because it shows us that even though you got them as freebies you still go out there and purchase items too. I love Batiste it's the best dry shampoo i've tried that actually works for me. I gotta look into the gel polishes because I just got the Costco gel nail set and I want to get some new colors. But yeah I look forward to seeing the other products you liked that you ended up purchasing them.

This is such a great series to start. I love series type posts and have several running myself with plans in my head for more. It was great to see what you'd actually buy again. Love Batiste!
