Let me know if this situation has happened to you: You buy an expensive beauty product and end up hating it. You want to take it back but it's either too late, you've lost the receipt, or the store won't accept used products. You either throw it out or it sits there, taking up space in your makeup drawer. This has happened to me!
But I've got a solution! What if you could sell those used items that didn't work for you? Have you heard of Glambot? Glambot is an online makeup marketplace where users can buy and sell cosmetics. I love this idea! Finally, there's a safe venue to sell preowned makeup. I've been burned by Ebay, have had fake products, bad sellers, and swaps, so having a valid service is wonderful. I'm in love. Check out some more info below:
- What brands do they sell?
- High end brands--all the good ones, including MAC. They even have limited edition items. Naturally, used items are much cheaper than new ones. Go look!
- What quality is the makeup?
- They sell new and used, and each product has a "fill" in the description (as in new, 80% full or 50% full). They have brushes, palettes, skin care, and more--not just makeup.
- Is preowned makeup safe?
- Luckily, Glambot's proprietary 5-step authentication and sanitization process guarantees each item is authentic and safe for you to use!
- Are the products fakes?
- These are guaranteed authentic.
- What if I don't like my order?
- If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, you can return the item for a full refund within 14 days of purchase if unopened and in its original condition. Shipping is covered.
- How do I sell?
- Make sure the item qualifies, send for free, and if it meets qualifications, you'll get cash or Glambucks. Payment takes 3-5 business days or instant Glambucks credit. You don't have to take pictures--just send it in.
I was given some credits (Glambucks) to try out their service, and here's what I picked up:
Tarte Crease Brush, Too Faced Blush and Gloss, DiorSkin Nude Foundation |
I was happy with everything I got! The brush I used in this tutorial (see it in action!). The other products were listed as 80% full (I think the gloss was new), but they looked new or slightly used. I admit, I did extra sanitize mine because I am cray. Overall, I was very pleased with Glambot, including the customer service, and would highly recommend it!
And remember, if used makeup isn't your thing, you can sell your new or preowned makeup. It's free to ship and free to sell!

If interested, I have a discount code for 10% off! Click here. Go check out the products and the brands--I literally spent HOURS going through all of the makeup. If you're looking to score some high end makeup at a cheaper price, give Glambot a try.

I find the idea slightly weird, but also brilliant. I guess I'll have to read more about the sanitation process...like, the lip gloss?
ReplyDeleteOhhh, I would so check this out! Brilliant way to try products for a cheaper price too.
ReplyDeleteI think it's a great idea because I've been in a situation like this before and it's so frustrating! Not sure if I'd buy anything for myself, but I'd definitely consider selling some of my stuff there. Thank you for sharing, Elle! x
ReplyDeleteI just normal give the makeup to my friends. I don't try out a lot of new makeup but if I do. i will have to keep this site in mind.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! It's like thred Up for make up!
ReplyDeleteI remember buying a used eyeshadow before in Makeup Alley, but I don't know if I'd do it for lippies and gloss. I do think it's an interesting idea for a site. Thanks for the heads up, Elle:)
ReplyDeletehow interesting! its a very good idea when you think about it :)
ReplyDeleteVery cool concept! Not sure how a feel about used makeup but I guess if it's sanitized haha

ReplyDeleteUmmm...amazing! Never heard of this before, thank you!
ReplyDeleteWhat a neat idea! I do love Sephora’s return policy, but this is great for other buys that you can’t return!
ReplyDeleteI shall have a look at this website sometime.. thanks fr sharing xo

This is brilliant!! I agree that Sephora has the best return policy - but for those drug store buys are even gifts this is perfect!! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great idea! I'm definitely going to have to check it out!!

haven't heard of this until now. This is a pretty cool idea!
ReplyDeleteI've heard of sites selling used makeup, but like that Glambot has an authentication and sanitization process. Thanks for the review!

ReplyDeleteOh, Too Faced Glamour Glosses are some of my favorites - especially Pillow Talk shade. I'd be with you and being a crazy person about sanitizing anything I got!!
ReplyDeleteI think this is awesome! I'm playing around their site now ;)
ReplyDeleteI always purchase my handbags used so why not my make up!! I love this idea since I never know what to buy - and not splurging on something I won't like seems a lot more realistic to me. I can't wait to check this out!

This is a good idea for people that are not germaphobes. I think ediv is a similar site.
ReplyDeleteThis is SUCH a good idea!! I'm heading over to their site now (:
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard of them but what a great idea.
ReplyDeleteWow. That's pretty brilliant. I'm curious about this 5 step authentication/sanitation process, but skepticism aside, I think this is gold.
ReplyDeleteAh, I love this. I'm usually afraid to try pricier cosmetic items because my skin hates almost everything. At least now I could shop for them used to try and know I can sell them off if I hate them!
ReplyDeleteI love this! I was just trying to figure out what to do with a Benefit foundation that's too dark for my skin... definitely going to look into selling it here!

That's a great idea! I had the same experience once with a La Mer serum and lately a Dior and Le Blanc de Chanel - very bad in my opinion! But can't exchange them! I like your post about it - I used to feel very stupid about buying and getting stuck with a bad item! You know that from time to time I "vanish" a bit, but always come back! Hope you are fine! denisesplanet.com
ReplyDeleteYay for makeup posts! I need all the help I can get!

I love that it is safety promised! This is a great idea!

I have not heard of this before but it sounds intriguing...thanks for sharing, I will definitely check it out!
ReplyDeleteThis is just what I have been looking for! I have some used makeup (sanitized) that I haven't wanted to throw away and I'd much rather sell!!!
ReplyDeleteEeek! I can see the intrigue in this but I'm too much of a germaphobe unfortunately! Promised or not, I would be too nervous to use. Ha.
ReplyDeleteFun post! Chloe <3
I've bought from Glambot several times and I'm amazed at how clean and perfect the makeup looks when it arrives. These people CARE. I boxed up a bunch of my lightly used makeup goods and hit "Print a Label". It said they'd put me on a waiting list b/c they had too much makeup to sell. :P I literally spent hours getting it bubble wrapped and taped and ready, I was so bummed! I still haven't heard anything more so I can't speak on the selling process yet. I hope to hear from them soon! This is a GREAT IDEA! I picked up a few discontinued LE MAC quads and they've become my new favorites! I'm so happy someone thought of this idea and is executing it as well as they have!
ReplyDeleteI have to check this out!
ReplyDeleteOh what a great idea! I am so gonna use this- thank you so much for sharing, Elle! I can see myself selling- just not buying lol. I totally understand that you sanitized these again. Kisses, Sissi www.beauty4free2u.com
