Hey you! It's almost Easter--I know, seriously how fast has this year flown by? I celebrate Easter all the way. In addition to religious reasons, I enjoy seeing it all through my nieces and nephews eyes, AND it's Charlie's 5th birthday! I decorate too, and every year I do an Easter DIY on the blog. Today I'm sharing 3 DIY Easter Bath Bomb Recipes. These are so fun and easy to make, and I've got a new one for this year. I just made a batch and my house smells amazing. Let me know your favorites!
This is a fun twist on the regular bath bomb. Just add candy sprinkles!
You'll Need:
- 1 c Epsom salt
- 1/2 c citric acid (try Whole Foods or online)
- 1/2 c cornstarch
- 1/2 c baking soda
- 1/2 c water
- food coloring or soap colorant
- essential oil (if desired. I totally cheated for this batch and used Epsom salts that were scented)
- Easter candy sprinkles
- plastic Christmas ball ornament (or look for ball baking molds online)
- glass bowls
To Make:
- Place ornaments on a sturdy surface. You can pour candy in the bottom (pictured below) or mix in later if you like (pictured above).
- Add the dry ingredients and the food colorant and mix by hand until the mix is tinted. If doing more than one color, you'll need a bowl for each color. To make the bath bomb above, I added the sprinkles to the mix.
- Once mixed, add a few drops of water. It will start to fizz. Quickly mix until the mix sticks together. Add a few water drops at a time. If it looks foamy, you've added too much water.
- Press the mix into each ornament half until it is filled to the top. My disc went corrupt, so the pics are gone, but I actually layered colors of pink, yellow, and pink to mimic the color of the sprinkles.
- Allow to dry for two to three hours and then carefully place the other half of the ornament on top of the other.
- Allow this to dry overnight or at least 8 hours. Carefully remove from the molds/ornaments. Drop in your bath when ready!
Do you like your sprinkles at the top and bottom? Or mixed in? |
These are a cute egg shape (just use plastic eggs you probably already have) AND they have a surprise inside. This Pinterest-fave has been copied by many. Come see the original! Kids LOVE these and are great for those who are anti-candy.
These are feet fizzies--bath bombs for your feet. Give your feet a treat with these bath bombs that look like the familiar Easter candy. Can be used as a bath bomb as well.
Which one is your favorite?
Extra Elle:
- Got my taxes done--definitely on the less-glamourous side of blogging.
- I had the most embarrassing moment the other day. Read about it here.
