1-NYX
- sold online, CVS, Target, ULTA
- BEST BUYS:
- Cream blush (pictured) $6, 9 shades
- Best for: dry skin, natural-looking makeup
- I really love nearly all the shades, but "glow" is my favorite. Everyone I've suggested it to loves it.
- Powder blush $5, 24 shades
- Best for: all
- These come in a variety of shades and finishes with something for all.
2-Revlon
- sold online, drugstores, "box" stores
- BEST BUYS:
- Cream blush (pictured) $14, 4 shades
- best for: dry skin
- Pricey (use coupons or rewards to save $), but lasts the longest of any cream blush I've tried. Very pigmented.
- The powder blushes are pretty good but are not as easy to find as the cream ones.
3-Jordana
- sold online, Walgreens, Kmart, Duane Reade, Save Mart
- $2.49, 29 shades
- These are my hidden-gem blushes. They're pigmented, come in a variety of colors and finishes that range from natural to bronzer.
- fyi: sister company to Milani but much more affordable!
- CHECK OUT: Best/Worst Jordan products
4-Wet N Wild
- sold online, drugstores, "box" stores
- 4 shades, $2.99
- BEST BUYS:
- I prefer the Icon blushes (pictured). WNW offers limited edition ones (ex. Fergie has a new collection of blushes out) that might/might not be a part of the permanent line, so I chose to share ones that you could find easily. Skip the others.
5-Milani
- sold online, drugstores, some "box" and grocery stores
- BEST BUYS:
- Rose powder blush (pictured) $8.49, 3 shades
- Are these not the most beautiful blushes you've ever seen? So glad they are now part of the permanent collection.
- Baked blush $8.49, 9 shades
- Some of the shades are very shimmery (not my preference), so I prefer the gorgeous peachy Luminoso that is not as shimmery, and the new matte shades.
SKIP: People are very loyal to products and can get offended if someone dislikes a favorite product of theirs. But trust me, y'all. I've tried so, so many and want to only share the best with you.
- ELF: I know, many of you are fans, but I would suggest better options in the 5 brands I've listed above. They do have a Pink Passion shade that is pigmented or I'd suggest the Studio Blush 4 Palettes, but I've found the others to be not pigmented, poor quality (too chalky and the HD cream blushes are very pigmented but separated after time), and they broke me out.
- Covergirl: Too chalky and not pigmented. I find the trios or original cheekers to be too small to use well.
What's your favorite blush?
Extra Elle:
- Y'all--I meant this for 12am, like when I usually post! Sorry for the late post. It's been a week around here!
- I wasn't prepared for the weather. It's so dang hot!
- Yesterday was my Mama's birthday! Her name is Barbie and the infamous doll (created two years later) has the same birthday as her.
- Thanks for you comments on this post. Taking it day by day.
nice.. number three looks like the perfect shade for me.
ReplyDeleteI have heard good things about the Milani blushes- need to pick some up, for sure!

I agree with NYX, both the powder and cream blushes are one of the best in the drugstore market.

I love the last blush, the package is so pretty.
ReplyDeleteI agree about ELF, just not worth the $1, blech!
<3 to you!
I must confess that I feel bad commenting about makeup now, but I know it may help as well. For me, good ones would be number 1, the creamy NYX blush, cause I have a tendency to dry skin and you say it's good. Then the beeeest - I know, many love or will love Revlon, but for me is the Rose Powder, Milani. I agree with you, it's the cutest blush I have ever seen. Normally I am not wearing blush anymore, I change from time to time. I loved your mom's name and the birthday, same as the doll!
ReplyDeleteMilani blushes are my favorite but I haven't tried the rose powder ones. I want to try the new Nyx blushes!
ReplyDeleteThat Milani rose blush is so pretty and reminds me of the Clinique Pop blushes. I have a baked blush that I use often, but haven't seen these rose blushes. Sending you and your family warm thoughts.
ReplyDeleteI love those rose blushes. They're so pretty to look at and to use. I always pass over covergirl products. I've been disappointed a million times in what they offer.
ReplyDeleteI have seen several people bragging on Milani but I haven't tried it. I am sure that it is sold around here in stores, but I don't think I have even seen it?! I need a new blush, I may give one a try. I was thinking about spring for Nars...do you prefer any high end brands over these drug store brands?
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool that your grandma's name is Barbie and that they sahre a bday!
i've heard good things about maybelline bouncy blush.. do you like it? xo jillian - cornflake dreams
ReplyDeleteI've used ELF blush for the past couple months but always love trying new ones especially when they don't cost an arm and leg! And I agree with Denise...I do feel bad for talking about makeup when you have so much on your plate but hopefully, your blog will give you a sense of normalcy.
ReplyDeleteI have wanted to try the Milani blushes! They all look so pretty! Also, I was not around in blogging world this weekend/yesterday but I just wanted to say I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your father. I am sending lots of good thoughts, prayers, and warm hugs your way!

I looove the blush that came in this month's Ipsy bag as well as the Revlon(?) stick from a past Ipsy :)
ReplyDeleteI'm keeping this handy. Often times I want to try a blush at a drugstore but figure they're not going to show up. Good to know which ones are worth trying :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your Mama! Thinking of you and your family during this difficult time.
ReplyDeleteI have to say I'm not a huge blush wearer. Mostly because my face is very red. Even with a full coverage foundation a tiny bit of red shows through. I find when I wear any sort of pinks my complexion is a mess. Maybe you have a suggestion?
I have used the Wet and Wild Fergie ones and while they are ok, the regular Wet and Wild ones are way better quality. (:
I'll have to try the NYX and Revlon. I love cream blushes. Happy Birthday to your mom. I hope you and your family are doing okay.
ReplyDeleteI love Milani products and they are better than a lot of bigger brands in my opinion. Amazing product review.

I've been thinking about picking up a new blush for spring--thanks for the recommendations! I'd like to try the NYX or the Revlon (if I can find a coupon--when did Revlon get so expensive?!). Also, happy birthday to your mama! :) Take care, friend.
ReplyDeleteI keep hearing about Jordana products. I'll have to try to track them down in NYC.
ReplyDeleteI have two of the Revlon blushes! One was 75% off, and I had a CVS coupon that applied to the other. I wear the non-sale one all the time. It's such a pretty color! The other one is also pretty, but I think will be better for my summer complexion.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have to try those Jordana blushes. I do love the Milani ones! I've always wondered about the elf blushes, but I'm glad you said they aren't good so I don't waste my money! I'm looking forward to the rest of your drugstore favorites! And happy birthday to your momma!
ReplyDeletei'm currently using jordana and love it.
ReplyDeleteI really like the color of the Jordana and the Wet n Wild in the photo. I like the more berry tones for my skin tone. Jordana is at Walgreens right? Hope you are hanging in there girl. Happy belated Birthday to your Mom.
ReplyDeleteThe Revlon and Milani are just gorgeous colors! I've never tried NYX anything so maybe I will have to give it a shot next time I am out of blush!
ReplyDeleteI recently purchased my first Milani product and I'm in love so I'm excited to try more of their line! xo, Biana - BlovedBoston
ReplyDeleteThis is so helpful! Finding the right blush shade at the drugstore is challenging - there are so many options and no one there to guide you. I really like the NYX lip products but have never tried the blush and I've not heard of Milani so I'm going to have to check that out too! Happy Birthday to your Mom!

I love love love Milani blushes - they are such a great drugstore find.
ReplyDeleteI have never tried any of these before, but my NARS addiction is getting expensive so thanks for narrowing down the drugstore choices!
ReplyDeleteI love Nyx products but unfortunately they're not the easiest ones to get hold of in the UK. x
ReplyDeleteRenata | Speaking Beauty UK
Thanks for this post as I need to pick up some blush.
ReplyDeleteHope you're doing okay. Thinking of you.
Thank you so much for this roundup! I always love knowing which drugstore brands are worth it!
ReplyDeleteI love cream blushers! Need to Try this one by Revlon! Thanks for your selection!
ReplyDeleteI need to find some Jordana.
ReplyDeleteI love this post! I used to use one of WNW's blushes in Heather something, I can't remember the name... I loved that blush! I really want to try the new Milani blushes too!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to your momma! Love all these brands, and I can't wait to be able to put a little more color on my cheeks for the spring and summer.

I like the Wet N Wild blushes as well. Great drugstore blushes for sure. Oh and Happy Birthday to your mom :) Hope you're doing well. You're still in my thoughts.
ReplyDeleteI picked up a container of Milani blush yesterday but I haven't tried it yet.
ReplyDeleteSending birthday wishes to your mom.
Great post! That wet n wild blush used to be my daily blush! This reminded me to pull it out again!
ReplyDeleteOh thanks for these recommendations. I actually don't own a drugstore blush, probably because I don't own or use many blushes at all. Its good to know that there are affordable ones though!
ReplyDeleteI have some NYX blushes and love them. I've been wanting to get my hands on Milani blushes for a while.
ReplyDeletewww.naturalledrea.blogspot.com
YES! Thanks for a blush post. I am such a blush girl and feel naked without it! I'm a big fan of Milani's powders! For a drugstore brand, any of their powder makeup--foundation, blush--is truly the best!
ReplyDeleteKeep on engaging in everyday life the best you can. You're doing incredibly well, Elle, considering the circumstances. I wish you some peace knowing that your dad didn't have to suffer long and that you got to see him one last time as well. We are all proud of how you are handling this.
Thanks for this review. I am starting to really like cream blushes. They just add a bit of glow to my face. I have never heard of Jordana so I am excited to try that one! Susan
ReplyDeleteI have a confession, Ive never tried a drugstore blush! I cant live without it but back in HS I fell in love with a blush and havent used anything since. I really want to ty a cream blush though so I think Ill try that Revlon one!
ReplyDeleteI own 4 of the NYX Cream Blushes and adore them all - I definitely need to try Glow!
ReplyDeletexx
I've been meaning to try these blushes since I haven't tried any. I always seem them, but never end up picking them up!

The first one is my favorite!!
ReplyDeleteBelated Happy Birthday to your Mom, What a coincidence that Barbie doll has the same birthday but was created 2 years late :)
