How was your almost-over March? It flew by, right? Every month I get personal and share my month in review with these Chit Chat videos.
- First, I talk about my March, which was awful, to be honest. My Daddy died and my dog was attacked, BUT there were some highlights, too.
- I share my favorite blog posts of the month--I'd love to see if we picked the same ones!
- I also talk about my monthly #JALS (Just a Little Something) challenge. Pick something small, a small goal, and work on it for the month. For March, I wanted to be present. I'm addicted to my phone, so this was a hard one. For April, I plan on making 1 healthy choice a day. I'd LOVE for you to participate. Let me know what goal you plan on doing for April!
- I also shared my IPSY bag for March:
- LeeAnni Eco--3 in 1 Revolution Light--Toner, Serum, and Moisturizer in one. This revolutionary lotion will save you time during your busy morning rush, and moisturize your face all day long! LIGHTER version of 3 in 1 Revolution. Great for normal to oily skin and during warmer weather.
- NYX Cosmetics Butter Lipstick--Pamper your lips with a hydrating kiss of smooth Butter Lipstick in 22 luxurious shades. The delicate texture of satin fused with the high color saturation creates an even finish on lips that’s long-wearing and beautiful.
- pūr~lisse beauty--pūr~delicate gentle soymilk cleanser & makeup remover. Appreciate your skin, don’t irritate it. Cleanse the day away in one simple step with this sulfate-free blend of Soy Milk, Whole Oat and White Tea. This gentle cleanser leaves your face silky soft, without a trace of impurity. The 4-in-1 sulfate free & non-drying formula gently washes away dirt and makeup (even mascara!), while soothing and toning skin.
- Boo-Boo Cover-Up--Have a Boo-Boo? Skip the bandage and the shiny ointment. Look your best even while you heal with Boo-Boo Cover-Up for face and body. Our innovative formula offers great coverage for skin imperfections while containing ingredients known in nature to promote healing.
- VINTAGE by Jessica Liebeskind Illuminating Face Highlighter. Add a beautiful wash of color and subtle, sexy shimmer with the ILLUMINATING FACE HIGHLIGHTER. Created to be worn on top of fresh, dewy skin or as a delicate highlight over pretty blush – the reflective pearls add radiance on contact delivering a diamond-like finish to the skin.
- To see what I thought of each, please check out my video. To sign up for Ipsy, please click my code here.
- Extra Elle:
- I admit, sometimes I feel like my blog is a "stop-and-drop" meaning some just drop a random comment hoping to gain traffic or stop by just because I visited their blog. It hurts because I work so hard on this! My blog is my passion and keeps me going.
- And that makes me hesitant to share anything about my life, so I am thankful for everyone who has supported my blog, my youtube, and especially me during these past few weeks. It was so hard opening up but I'm glad I did. You mean so much and I cannot thank you enough.
Dear, I'm really sorry about your dad. It's terrible, but don't be sad, he would want you to cheer up :)

Losing a close one is never a easy fit but I can see you're so strong. I cracked when my grandma dies and was literally shattered and to this day Ive let it destroy me, but seeing you like this I know you could actually amount to amazing things!
ReplyDeleteIt takes a very special person to be able to share this, and I appreciate your blog even more for that, so thank you! Wishing you only joy!

ReplyDeleteYou really have had a rough month, and I hope that April will be much better for you! I am going try that sugar substitute that you recommended a couple of months back. My husband and I kicked the Splenda habit, so we have looking for another healthy option.

You do deserve 5 years of happiness after what you've been through this month and your ability to stay positive is amazing. One of these days I'm going to follow through on my JALS and you're so right--don't judge a lipstick by its cover.
ReplyDeleteWow, you're an amazing person! I don't think I could be so strong and go back to my daily duties after going through something like that. Happy birthday to your grandma and I'm very sorry to hear about your loss. You have such a beautiful smile, I'm happy to see it :)

Your beautiful spirit is shining through despite your recent loss and hardships {the dog attack situation is terrifying} - you're such an inspiration, Elle. And I definitely want to try out the VINTAGE by Jessica Liebeskind Illuminating Face Highlighter!

Awe, Elle. I got a little teary eyed listening to you talk. First of all...you will always have a daddy, he is just watching over you now :) And omg Charlie is adorable!!!! I just want to squeeze him! So cute! I love your positive spirit. You are truly amazing.
ReplyDeleteI love your one healthy choice a day. I think that is so doable and I am going to follow along with you this month and try it out!! That NYX lip butter is going on my list to try. I hope you have an amazing week!!! Cheers to April being a better month!
Losing someone is not easy though the pain never truly goes away you do get a little stronger everyday. Keep your chin up because he is smiling down on you and is still a very big part of your life x

Most people would be hurt and shut out the world. You keep going and strive to see the best in the world. It's truly inspiring and I'm sorry people "commenting to comment" are bringing you down. I trying enjoy readying your blog and hearing about your life! Continue to be who you are girl! (:
ReplyDeleteps. that green button up is gorg on you! <3

ReplyDeleteThe products u got in the IPSY bag is lovely.. i can only imagine what u may hv felt when ur dad passed away.. may his soul RIP
ReplyDeleteGirl - you have TOTALLY reached your quota of sad for the month... year.. YEARS!
ReplyDeleteI love you'd use the word Adventurous for your daddy... that says a lot about him. Cant wait for the celebration post about him.
Hoping for a better April for you! Prayers for your family right now.
ReplyDeleteAnd I am so thankful for your blog because it is literally my only source of beauty wisdom. I appreciate that you always get down to the point and it's easy to get the necessary information (i.e. I should be cleaning my blow drier! haha!)
Love the adventure land mug! I need to pick that up. And I love it even more knowing there's sweet tea inside haha. That's good stuff right there. Also your ipsy looks better than mine I didn't even feel like posting it this month is was so bad. Oh well theres always next month right?
ReplyDeleteHi, dear Elle! And here I am again confessing that I was watching the video and saw the Disney mug and "accent", green for March and then I know your dad has passed away... I am really really sorry, you know this. Really really sorry. But as you know, I now can read but not hearing... I haven't cried yet and this week it didn't hurt that much, so please this is not a drop by, I am being honest and protecting myself :( I may sound stupid, but really crying for years led me to this :) I loved that you and your granny talked and that she is 76th now! And I confess, I didn't know IPSY's bags and I also never tried any NYX product, but I have seen some on your blog and now I want to try. But I guess I told you that I love highlighters and want to try that Vintage essica Liebeskind illuminating highlighter!!!! I love any new highlighter - by new I mean, that I still didn't know! Mmm... I'm not the healthiest in my choices... maybe that is a good challenge for me!

You have been through so much, Elle, and I definitely hope no more sadness comes your way for a very long time. I love the way you featured that Adventureland cup to honor your dad's adventurous spirit. I admire your strength and how hard you work on your blog. I also love your goal of making one healthy choice a day during April.
ReplyDeleteI love the pretty floral bag. It is adorable. The lipstick is a pretty color.
ReplyDeleteJessica @ Sunny Days and Starry Nights
oh my, I LOVE that lipstick color.
ReplyDeleteThese prodcuts all looks wonderful! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for sharing with us, Elle! It takes a lot of courage to get on and be honest with your viewers, but you always do! Hoping April brings lots of sunshine into your life!
ReplyDeleteYour Ipsy bag looks like fun. I LOVE those NYX lip butters. They feel so good on the lips :-)
So sorry about your dad!

I love the glass of the month (and the cheers to your dad)! You are so right, death is never like it is on TV is it? Glad you are coping and that the pup is doing so great!
ReplyDeleteOMG, love this lipstick, stunning color. *__*
ReplyDeleteNew outfit is online...
I cannot believe that we are already into the fourth month of the year! Time is going by crazy fast!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a good weekend, Elle! I just hung around and relaxed, too. Well... and blogged, of course! Isn't organizing beauty supplies the hardest task? I'm always trying to find a new system, too. I just recently put my Q-tips in a cute mason jar without the top on my vanity. It's made it so convenient and looks super cute! Wondering why I didn't think of it sooner!

i recently bought two NYX nudes, but loving this plum color here! it'll be perfect for spring.
ReplyDeleteThat's sweet that you and your grandma were both worried about each other. I love your #JALS challenge each month--I like the idea of focusing on something small to do every month. Next month my "little something" will be breakfast--I need a breakfast makeover!
ReplyDeleteI loved the post on making your own lip balm and have been wanting to do that! I really hope next month is better for you and you get over that cold soon! This has been a rough winter for sickness. :(
ReplyDeleteThis was such a hard month for you, and I have been keeping you in my thoughts. I think with the comments you just have to take the good with the bad and just appreciate those who comment with meaning and forget the others. Love the NYX lip color in the picture.
ReplyDeletewhat a fun review on products! I am sorry its been a hard month! hang in there and hope things get better for you! you, your fam and pup will be in my prayers
ReplyDeleteI'm very intrigued by the boo boo cover up!
ReplyDeleteYou and your grandma are awesome and will keep supporting each other/
Stop and drops are inevitable, but remember some of us love to read about new products AND hear from you too! Well if the rest come, they come right?

I loved your video elle, especially the little lipstick dance you did haha! I just wanted to say that i really like I get to know the person behind the blogs I read. So even though this month was a bad one for you (big hugs) I want to thank you for opening up and sharing your life! I feel shy and private sometimes too, and I never like feeling like my blog is a 'stop and drop' either but your blog is so great and all of us who love you know how hard you work on your blog so don't worry about the stop and droppers haha!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you had such a difficult month, but it's almost over and April is sure to be much better for you! Keeping finding something to be glad about each day :-)
ReplyDeleteI have every intention of doing the JALS challenge but I'm so bad at following through. For April, I'm thinking of allowing myself to only eat sweets 2 days a week, instead of my usual 7-day, 2 times a day sweet fix (it's baaaddd), but everyone's got their poison!
Charlie is so sweet---I'm glad that he's still able to eat regularly and live a normal life despite what happened. I'm currently sitting here on the couch with one of my furbabies curled up next to me while I watch this :-)
Hope you have a lovely week! xx
This is such a personal video from you, Elle and I honestly wanted to reach out and give you a hug through the screen. I can't imagine how rough it has been for you but you're a very strong woman and you have my respect for that.
ReplyDeleteI also understand how frustrating it is when some people drop silly comments, it's annoying but I've learnt to ignore it. You're doing a fantastic job with your blog and your true followers love you for it. xx
Shireen | Reflection of Sanity
Hang in there, girl! So sorry you're going through so many things. I think everyone that blogs has a lot of the "stop-and-drop". We all go through it. I don't know how helpful that is, but it's true.
ReplyDeleteHey Elle. You are definitely a trooper. I'm kind of a slacker about leaving comments- but I definitely read your posts, Tweets, and IG. I think you should talk about your Dad as much as you want. :) Take care of you and Charlie!
ReplyDeleteSorry for your difficult month but love your positive attitude about it. I can't imagine losing a parent especially in such a dramatic way. Take all the time to cope you need. Thank you for sharing with us all. That's what the blogging community should be about :)
ReplyDeleteAlso love your #JALS challenge!
