Milani Cosmetics is a wonderful makeup brand that is influenced by Milan, Italy--the culture, the style, the people, the arts, and most importantly, the colors. This cruelty-free brand is available at many drugstores, other mass retailers, and online.
Today, after several years of trying and buying nearly all of their products, I'm sharing what I think you should check out and what you should skip. I'm choosing products that are available in stores. Thanks for Ashley, for reminding me to finally finish this post!
Eyes
Buy:
- Bella Eyes Gel Powder Eyeshadow (pictured)--These come in 29 colors, several finishes (satin, matte, shimmer), and are buildable and pigmented. $4.49
- Shadow Eyez 12 HR Wear Eyeshadow Pencil (pictured)--12 shades of pencil that are highlighters/shadows/liners in one product that don't crease and are waterproof. I like using them as a shadow primer or for an easy eye look. $7.49
- Eyeshadow Primer (pictured)--Make sure your shadow lasts all day and that color is intensified by using a primer. $5.99
Try:
- Brow Fix Kit--This tiny kit features 2 brow colors, a highlight, small brushes, tiny tweezers, and a 3x mirror. Good for makeup on the go or for travel. $7.99, 3 shades
- Milani Eyeliners--These come in a variety of forms and are worth a try, whether you like pencil, liquid, or mechanical. The brow pencils and clear gel are worth a mention.
Skip:
- Not a fan of their mascaras, brow tint pens, foil eyeliners, foil eyeshadows
Face
Buy:
- Baked Blush (pictured)--My faves are the Luminoso (soft shimmery peach) and the matte blushes (the latter look great on darker skin). I don't like the others in the line--too shimmery/glittery for me. but may be perfect for you! $8.49
- Rose Blush (pictured)--Some of the prettiest-looking blushes out there, right? These were limited edition that are now permanent, but in 3 shades. There are natural and more pigmented shades. $7.99
Try:
- Bronzers--There are baked bronzers, bronze XL, and matte (not online, but still can be found in stores) that are give that bronzed shimmery goddess look, $9.99
- Note: I have never been able to find powder foundations or concealers of this brand in stores, so I am skipping a review here, but you can find them online.
Lips:
Buy:
- Lipsticks (pictured)--Available in 28 colors (my faves are Nude Creme, Fruit Punch, and Teddy Bare) and now in matte form as well, these lipsticks are some of my fave drugstore finds. $5.99
- Brilliant Lip Glosses (pictured)--13 shades and two finishes (cream or shimmer) with a hint of vanilla scent in sleek packaging, $4.99
- I also love the limited edition Fierce Foil glosses.
- Easyliner Mechanical Lip Liner Pencil (pictured) and Anti-Feathering Lip Liner
Nails:
- I prefer the older formulation, but the newer offering comes in 37 shades, with many of these being hit or miss. I say skip them.
Have you tried Milani before? What are your fave Milani products?

Extra Elle:
- Today my "baby" sister Holly turns 20! We are 18 years apart but are super close. Happy birthday, I love you!
- Had a major brush cleaning session--I'm talking 101 (no exaggeration) brushes. It took forever, but prom season is here, so I had to get ready!
Oh hey, thanks for posting this, Elle (and for the shout out)! Seriously, I appreciate you trying all the products so I know what to pick :) I've heard good things about their lipstick and now you've confirmed that. I'm also a big fan of their face powders!
ReplyDeleteA blogger told me where I can find Milani here in Toronto...so happy! I'll remember this list for sure.:)
ReplyDeleteI tried their nail polish once and it was terrible, so it's great to hear your opinion on other products.

I like cute products, so this Rose Blush speaks loads to me! I liked the packaging and the blush color! So good that it's permanent now! For the brows, I am now using the trick you taught - the lip balm! I never do anything to my brows, but tried it last Sunday just to see whether it worked... and it was great!

Happy birthday to your sister! (:
ReplyDeleteI have never tried Milani. I've heard awesome things, and I almost always pick something up but ultimately put it down. Discount drug mart is the only place around here I've found that sells the line. Perhaps I'll take the plunge next time. (;
That blush looks amazing! I want that rose one!

ReplyDeleteThank you so much for this post, Elle! Felt like you read my mind because I discovered SuperStore sells Milani just two days ago! I am planning to try some products but had no idea what to buy and what to skip and was too lazy to read reviews one by one so I am super stoked with this!

ReplyDelete101 brushes...whoa!! I haven't tried anything from Milani before, but I think I'd really like to try the eyeshadow pencil and eye primer. My shadow always creases, but the only primer I've tried is ELF and I didn't really like it. I'll have to try this one though!
ReplyDeleteI've never even heard of them! Good to know!
ReplyDeleteNever heard of them. Thanks for sharing this. Sounds like great products for the price.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree on the nail polish hah. But then again, I change mine so often that it's fun to get a cheap wild color from them sometimes :)
ReplyDeleteMilani's baked blushes are my absolute favorite!
ReplyDeletexo, Kyla - KyMarieC
Milani Luminoso is one of my favorite blushes and I wear it all the time. I want to try a Milani bronzer and lipstick next. So far I've only tried the blushes!
ReplyDeleteI love your posts as I get so many great tips on new products and I love trying new beauty/makeup products! I have never tried any of these but I am inspired to. Also, how do you recommend cleaning your brushes? I use J&J baby shampoo and a little bit of olive oil…thoughts?!

I LOVE this post Elle! I've recently been trying drugstore brands when beauty bloggers post their reviews. One definitely needs a review those products as we cant test them the way we can at department stores. I am definitely going to give them a try.

Oh my gosh! I love Milani products. I always act like a scavenger whenever I pop into Kmart and Walgreens. I definitely need to give their brow products a try. I think those are the only products I have not tried from them.

I have tried the lip gloss, lipstick and baked blush so far and all of them are a huge hit for me! I hadn't considered they eye shadows before but I might since they are on your list of buys. I just love that I finally found a drug store brand that I love. Between Milani and Rimmel. I am saving some serious money from some of my higher end purchases I used to make.
ReplyDeletePretty stuff. I love that it's the shape of a rose.
ReplyDeleteI love these posts and that you go through all the hard work of trying everything for us so we know what's good and what's maybe not so much. I will have to check out this brand. I have never tried their makeup, but I love that it is cruel free!
ReplyDeleteI keep meaning to check out their Rose blushes. Thanks for this informative breakdown Elle!

Yay that crosses off a brow pen/pencil to try off my list. I need a new one but I don't want to spend a million dollars trying to find the perfect one at the moment. The blushes look really pretty though.

I am so excited to try the Rose Blushes. I picked up 2 of the 3 yesterday at CVS. They were buy one get one half off! I'm so glad I picked up a good product!
ReplyDeleteGreat post I haven't tried much of this (I only have a few milani lipsticks) but I can imagine I wouldn't like the mascara as you recommended. Hope your sis had a great birthday!
ReplyDeleteOh I just discovered the milani lipsticks and lip liners and they are my favorites right now. So this is a great post because you recommended some of their other products, I think I might try there blush next because you said they have matte ones, I've been on the search for some.
