I received free product from Truly Radiant to review.
Life has been throwing me some doozies this year--a couple of examples: my daddy died and I lost a good friend. That's enough to make me want to permanently stay in bed and watch Netflix (okay, that's me on a Friday night). But instead of letting those things get me down, I've decided to be radiant. I want to glow on the inside and outside. I want to radiate that positive energy to all of those around me.
There are lots of ways that I'm doing this, but instead of overwhelming you with tons of tips, let's start with just 4 that you can do in the morning.
Ready to be radiant?
1--Think of Five
The alarm goes off. You immediately start thinking of your huge to-do list. You start checking emails. Already you feel defeated.
Try This: It may be summer, and it's hot and humid, but please don't skip this step. Sun damage causes dry skin. Moisturizing in the morning is a sure-fire way to look radiant. Instead of those heavy creams, try a light facial serum instead.

Save 50¢ on Rejuvenating Toothpaste by clicking here.

Try this: Once the alarm is off, think of 5 good things. These can be 5 things that you are thankful for, 5 things (people, pets, etc.) that make you smile, 5 good things that have happened to you lately or a mixture of these. It will make you smile and it really works.
2--Freshen, Whiten, Brighten
Try this: A lot of you do this anyway, but if not, it's a good habit to start. I swear by this to make me feel instantly refreshed and more awake. I brush my teeth with the ARM & HAMMER™ Truly Radiant™ Manual Toothbrush. This is the only manual toothbrush that features a rotating head, plus elongated, all-access bristles that get deep in-between teeth to help blast away plaque. I have a pack of two, so I keep one in my travel bag too.
Of course I use ARM & HAMMER™ Truly Radiant™ Rejuvenating Toothpaste with my matching toothbrush! Gotta keep it consistent, y'know. This does more than just whiten teeth--it strengthens, cleans and repairs tooth enamel for a radiant smile in just 5 days!* (*Data on file)
Sometimes I'll start my morning with this ARM & HAMMER™ Truly Radiant™ Whitening & Strengthening Rinse. If I don't, I definitely use it before I leave for the day. The five-year-old will definitely call me out on my breath. Trust. I love this because it whitens without alcohol or peroxide.
3--Hydrate
Try This: Coffee, where's the coffee? Instead of coffee first thing in the morning, try brushing your teeth (or using the rinse first) and then drinking a glass of water. I try to make myself drink at least 2 glasses before hitting the coffee. I find then I don't need as much, if at all. And that is big coming from this coffee addict. Plus, I've found that the more hydrated I am, the better it is for my skin AND for my kidneys. It really helps with my dark circles! I'm serious.
4--Moisturize
Try This: It may be summer, and it's hot and humid, but please don't skip this step. Sun damage causes dry skin. Moisturizing in the morning is a sure-fire way to look radiant. Instead of those heavy creams, try a light facial serum instead.
Those are my 4 tips to look and feel radiant. I wanted to encourage you to try out ARM & HAMMER™ Truly Radiant™ products with the coupons below!

You hAve had a pretty difficult year, but you've handled it with such grace. We all want to retreat into our holes and binge on Netflix every once in a while. Love your tip on thinking of 5 positive things when the alarm goes off, I need to do that! I'm trying to drink water before my coffee too. I feel that if I get something good in me first, then it might balance out the coffee. Xoxo,

The tips are very good, and my favorite was the "5 good things, happy things"... it is so needed, I will try that for sure! I confess that last week I was a bit down, not overly, but a bit, and I will use the tip of "5 nice things" for sure!
ReplyDeleteDenisesPlanet.com
I love the 5 good things idea. I'm awful to immediately think about everything I need to do and it's an awful way to start the day. And yes to the water! I really need to start doing that!
ReplyDeleteWorking out is major for me - I do a 40-minute cardio workout within 10 minutes of waking up. It truly gets me ready for the day ahead and helps me to feel radiant!

I also boost radiance by moisturizing and taking care of my skin. The 5 things makes sense as well - we should all appreciate what we have right?

I have never tried this Arm and Hammer toothpaste and mouth wash! I love that it helps protect enamel! Thanks for the tip! I dont know if I am radiant but I drink a ton of water and drink a Greens First every morning. A little lip gloss helps too(: Susan
ReplyDeleteAwesome tips gurlie! And I'm terrible about remembering to drink water first instead of coffee, I guess I'm just craving it first thing so that's what I always go for before anything else. It would probably help the stains on my teeth too :-P
ReplyDeleteI love this, Elle! I plan to try the "Think of Five" trick tomorrow morning. I boost my radiance by walking or doing some other type of workout. It gives me an instant glow and makes me feel uplifted.
ReplyDeleteI need to think of five good things in the morning, too! Lol! I am always thinking of what I need to do first. I have been trying to drink more water and nix the coffee and sweet drinks during the week.

I still hit the coffee all day, but I do start with water first. That's a great tip. It does make a huge difference! These are all great tips.
ReplyDeleteI love your effort to seek radiance in such a hard year. It's so much better to focus on the blessings. I too try to make the same effort!!! Radiance happens when I spend time outdoors (I love the sun)!
ReplyDeleteI love your 5 good things tip--this would be such a good change for me. I'm always waking up thinking about the to-do list.
ReplyDeleteI stay radiant by making sure I have some "me" time each week!
It's amazing what a gratitude list will do for me. Gets me outta the pity pot and into some light. Smiling even when it feels fake for sure gets some real smiling goin on! Bronzer base/primer is a huge radiant plus during this hot Texas summer ugghh but my face looks glowy without bad tanning. Talking to my friends even if its just to vent lets it out and even gets me different perspective! Love your radiant tips and love your blog!!!

You have such a pretty smile!! I love your first tip of thinking of 5 good things first thing in the morning. My husband always tells me that I should look in the mirror every morning and tell myself something along the lines of "I am smart. People like me. I will be successful today." And said that it is a great confidence booster. I think he is on to something....
ReplyDeleteI boost my radiance, and I stay radiant during the day is that I eat well and get enough sleep, and make sure to exercise every day. I also primp by getting myself a nice hair style and a manicure! It always makes me feel better when I take care of myself.

This is good information. I drink water first thing (because I'm always so thirsty in the morning) but good to know that it's a good thing to do that THEN drink the coffee! I also brush my teeth after my coffee and before I go back to work because I don't like the feeling of coffee on my teeth. You know that weird feeling I'm talking about? Lovely post! xx
ReplyDeleteI'm sitting here literally drinking my coffee before I've done anything else. I drank like a half a bottle of water before...that totally counts right?!
