Dry shampoo is one of my must-have beauty products that I use occasionally. I have nearly a dozen uses for it. But the white cast I get from certain brands? I can do without that. After testing over 20 dry shampoos over the past 6 months, I've got my faves for the best dry shampoos for brown hair. Check Sephora and ULTA for these.
1-Batiste
- Versions for light and dark brown
- My drugstore fave
2- Moroccan Oil Dark Tones
- UV-protecting, argan oil-infused formula leaves no dull residue
- Just like the original hit product, but with a slight tint
- Actually works to clean your hair--be sure to brush out
5-Detox for Brunettes
- New version of the Drybar original
- Great at giving texture to hair
6-Bumble & Bumble Pret A Powder
- An all-in-one hair powder featuring dry shampoo, style extending, and volume benefits
7-Oscar Blandi Invisible
- A clear dry shampoo
What's your favorite dry shampoo?
I only have the Suave kind, but I would love to try the Moroccan one! I don't use dry shampoo a whole lot, because I run a lot and need to shower to get all the sweat out of my hair... so, I do wash my hair almost everyday. But, there are times when I like to go a day without washing if I can.

I didn't realize Drybar came out with a brunette version! They are my favorite minus the white powder effect so I can't wait to try this version out. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteAwesome roundup! I'm obsessed with my Drybar Tripe Sec, so I'll need to check out the Detox for Brunettes too <3

I hate how dry shampoo leaves your hair so dull so I can't wait to try Moroccan oil version.

ReplyDeleteI love dry shampoo! It helps on those days you don't have time to wash but want to freshen up your hair. Thanks for sharing your favs! #4 sounds awesome!
ReplyDeleteDry Shampoo? I'd never heard of such a thing. Interesting.
ReplyDeleteI must be the only one who dislike dry shampoo but I also wash my hair everyday and don't find it as a chore. I've tried Batiste and Klorane before and both made my hair feel weird.

I really like the Dove dry shampoo. It doesn't leave any white casts on my hair and it smells amazing. Right now I have a Batiste one, but it's not the one for brunettes. I love it too but not that white cast. In definitely going to try the brunette one next!
ReplyDeleteYessss! Perfect for me! I'm a Batiste girl, but sometimes I'll pick up the travel size Oscar Blandi when I'm feeling fancy. I'll have to check out the other options!
ReplyDeleteThese sound great!

I actually haven't tried any of these, but of the two others I have tried, I hated the Not Your Mother's brand but loved the Pssst! one from Ulta.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE LOVE LOVE batiste. I haven't had much luck with any other dry shampoo that I've tried.
ReplyDeleteI currently use one from Tresemme, but I really want to try the Batiste for brown hair. I hear people RAVE about the living proof one all the time, but it's so pricey!
ReplyDeleteI love the batiste dry shampoo! It works the best for me :)
ReplyDeleteI've never tried the ones for the hair color - I need to do that - hate that white dandruff look from the regular dry shampoo
ReplyDeleteI love the Herbal Essences Naked Dry shampoo. There is no white residue with it.

I've wanted to try out dry shampoos but honestly I didn't think they worked. I definitely have to give them another look. Thanks Elle for this post.

I'm obsessed with dry shampoos at the moment so this post is perfect. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteSo I wasn't in love with the Oscar Blandi sample can that I had. I liked the Klorane one a lot better. I like that you said the Detox for Brunettes and B&B ones give texture. My hair needs texture so bad! Might try one of those next.
ReplyDeleteWow, so many... I tried a couple of dry shampoos over the last couple of years, but now prefer Christophe Robin's spray I talked about on the blog. Still, fantastic guide to come back to should I decide to go back to them. x
ReplyDeleteBatiste has always been my favorite and I definitely love that the make one specially for brunettes, blondes and red heads.
ReplyDeleteI know only about Batiste, because I heard a lot of great things on other blogs and I read a lot of reviews. This Klorane got me , definitely have to grab it.
ReplyDeleteCharming Coco ♡
I only recently discovered that there's dry shampoo for dark hair so after I use up what I have, I'll definitely be getting it! I have to work so hard to get the white to go away before I get into work!
ReplyDeleteI really like the Batiste, and the Klorane is on my wishlist!
ReplyDeleteI would love to try the moroccan oil ones! Did not even know it existed :)

ReplyDeleteI'm always wanting to try out new dry shampoos! I love one right now by Bamboo but i'll have to give one of these a try!

I need to try Batiste!
ReplyDeleteI have really been liking Suave works pretty great but I have used Batiste when traveling cause I found travel size lol
ReplyDeleteNice list of dry shampoos! I like to use Palmer's Olive Oil Formula Dry Shampoo!
ReplyDeleteDry shampoo has been my saving grace this past year! I haven't tried any other than Batiste though because it works so great on my hair and is a great price!
ReplyDeletei haven't tried the others, but i love Batiste. it changed me life! lol.
ReplyDeleteI've only used the Suave dry shampoo (#cheapskate) but have heard good things about the Batiste and want to try it. I don't love the white that the suave leaves behind. Thanks for the recommendations!
ReplyDeletePerfect! Am in need of dry shampoo so will check one of these out!
ReplyDeleteLiving Proof and Bumble & Bumble sound like great options! I've been using Lush dry shampoo for a couple of years now because it doesn't want to run out, I still have like half the bottle! Now that I'm used to powder I like it better than spray bottles.
ReplyDeleteAnother post meant for me lol. I just switched my regular shampoo this week so I hope to see some results. On Monday I am planning to go to Walgreens and a Miscellar Water and some Dry Shampoo are on my must-buy, must-try list. So thanks so much for your recommendations, Elle. =)
ReplyDeleteMy hair can go a long time without washing without getting greasy so I've never tried a dry shampoo. But! Lately I've heard really great things about how dry shampoos are good for adding texture and volume to hair as well. I'm thinking I might try one for that reason. So as a brunette, I appreciate this list! :)
ReplyDeleteWhich of these do you think would be best for black hair? So far I haven't had much luck finding one that doesn't make my hair look ashy. :(
ReplyDeleteI've been using Batiste for years and years. I really want to try Oscar Blandi Invisible though! I used a different invisible type and it was so wet.
ReplyDeleteI've tried all of these except for Moroccan Oil & Living Proof. My 2 cents:
ReplyDelete- Oscar Blandi is the standard!! Love this stuff
- The rest are meh. Detox from the Dry Bar stained my hands and when I rinsed it out in the shower it stained my white bath tub. Utter fail for me.
