Best Dry Shampoos For Brown Hair

Dry shampoo is one of my must-have beauty products that I use occasionally. I have nearly a dozen uses for it. But the white cast I get from certain brands? I can do without that. After testing over 20 dry shampoos over the past 6 months, I've got my faves for the best dry shampoos for brown hair. Check Sephora and ULTA for these.

1-Batiste

  • Versions for light and dark brown
  • My drugstore fave
2- Moroccan Oil Dark Tones
  • UV-protecting, argan oil-infused formula leaves no dull residue
3-Klorane With Oat Milk Natural Tint
  • Just like the original hit product, but with a slight tint
4-Living Proof Perfect Hair Day
  • Actually works to clean your hair--be sure to brush out
5-Detox for Brunettes
  • New version of the Drybar original
  • Great at giving texture to hair
6-Bumble & Bumble Pret A Powder
  • An all-in-one hair powder featuring dry shampoo, style extending, and volume benefits
7-Oscar Blandi Invisible

What's your favorite dry shampoo?

  1. I only have the Suave kind, but I would love to try the Moroccan one! I don't use dry shampoo a whole lot, because I run a lot and need to shower to get all the sweat out of my hair... so, I do wash my hair almost everyday. But, there are times when I like to go a day without washing if I can.

  14. I must be the only one who dislike dry shampoo but I also wash my hair everyday and don't find it as a chore. I've tried Batiste and Klorane before and both made my hair feel weird.

  15. I really like the Dove dry shampoo. It doesn't leave any white casts on my hair and it smells amazing. Right now I have a Batiste one, but it's not the one for brunettes. I love it too but not that white cast. In definitely going to try the brunette one next!

  17. I actually haven't tried any of these, but of the two others I have tried, I hated the Not Your Mother's brand but loved the Pssst! one from Ulta.

  25. So I wasn't in love with the Oscar Blandi sample can that I had. I liked the Klorane one a lot better. I like that you said the Detox for Brunettes and B&B ones give texture. My hair needs texture so bad! Might try one of those next.

  26. Wow, so many... I tried a couple of dry shampoos over the last couple of years, but now prefer Christophe Robin's spray I talked about on the blog. Still, fantastic guide to come back to should I decide to go back to them. x

  28. I know only about Batiste, because I heard a lot of great things on other blogs and I read a lot of reviews. This Klorane got me , definitely have to grab it.

  29. I only recently discovered that there's dry shampoo for dark hair so after I use up what I have, I'll definitely be getting it! I have to work so hard to get the white to go away before I get into work!

  37. i haven't tried the others, but i love Batiste. it changed me life! lol.

  38. I've only used the Suave dry shampoo (#cheapskate) but have heard good things about the Batiste and want to try it. I don't love the white that the suave leaves behind. Thanks for the recommendations!

  40. Living Proof and Bumble & Bumble sound like great options! I've been using Lush dry shampoo for a couple of years now because it doesn't want to run out, I still have like half the bottle! Now that I'm used to powder I like it better than spray bottles.

  41. Another post meant for me lol. I just switched my regular shampoo this week so I hope to see some results. On Monday I am planning to go to Walgreens and a Miscellar Water and some Dry Shampoo are on my must-buy, must-try list. So thanks so much for your recommendations, Elle. =)

  42. My hair can go a long time without washing without getting greasy so I've never tried a dry shampoo. But! Lately I've heard really great things about how dry shampoos are good for adding texture and volume to hair as well. I'm thinking I might try one for that reason. So as a brunette, I appreciate this list! :)

  43. Which of these do you think would be best for black hair? So far I haven't had much luck finding one that doesn't make my hair look ashy. :(

    ReplyDelete
  44. I've been using Batiste for years and years. I really want to try Oscar Blandi Invisible though! I used a different invisible type and it was so wet.

  45. I've tried all of these except for Moroccan Oil & Living Proof. My 2 cents:
    - Oscar Blandi is the standard!! Love this stuff
    - The rest are meh. Detox from the Dry Bar stained my hands and when I rinsed it out in the shower it stained my white bath tub. Utter fail for me.
