I don't use ELF that often as I used to, but recently I was drawn in by one of those hundreds of dang emails they send out. I ordered a few things, tried them out, and here I am to share them with you! Do you purchase ELF makeup?
By the way, I made you a video (look at the end of this post) where I share MORE details and demos of the products here! Let me know what you think!
I'm a sucker for a makeup brush. I'm not going to tell you how many I have, but you can guess! A few of these were new, so I had to pick them up!
- ELF Contouring Brush $6--Of the many of these I have tried, this is one of my faves.
- ELF Seflie Ready Foundation Brush $6--Very soft and worked well
- ELF Sculpting Face Brush $6-- I don't think the shape of it really helps, but it did work
- ELF Ultimate Kaubki Brush $10--Too big and hard to use, plus mine shed a lot
- ELF Brush Cleanser Wipes $3--For when you need a quick cleaning, and you don't want to use alcohol, these work well. Much better than the ones I got from Sephora.
I was drawn to the packaging when ELF released their skincare line last year. I finally tried a couple of new items!
- ELF Hydrating Gel Melt Cleanser $10--I'm a huge fan of cleansing balms, but they are so expensive, so I wanted an affordable alternative. This looks like Vaseline but doesn't feel like that once water is applied. Makeup was removed but not all of eye makeup. Great for travel.
- ELF Hydrating Bubble Mask $14--Watch the video (coming soon) to find out why this mask is so personal to me! I have tried every bubble or carbonated mask I could get my hands on, and this is a fave since it hydrates. Apply, let bubble, and let it disappear.
- ELF Kiss It Goodbye Lip Color Remover $3--Thanks for the suggestion for this Pamela. I tried one from NYX that was awful, but this really worked to remove swatches and various matte lip products. Y'all know I love a matte lip product!
And here are the last products that I tested. By the way, my room is all pink for Valentine's Day!
- ELF Lip Exfoliator in Cherry and Mint $3--Two new flavors of the original product, these are a little less gritty. Or you could always use my DIY and make it yourself!
- ELF Foundation Serum $8--3 shades (this is in medium) with SPF 25. I got this when I was testing out my Winter Foundations (Did you see that post? Click here). It goes on smooth to a satin finish and I liked it, but the silica made my skin breakout. Plus, I feel you don't get enough product to justify the price.
I'm wearing the foundation in this pic. It gives light coverage. Overall, it was a good haul with some new faves!
Which of these products caught your eye?

I have an eye shadow brush from elf that I really like. I need to check out the rest of their products.
ReplyDeleteElle, I couldn't view the vid:( Anyhoo, looks like a great haul:) I've never heard of lip color remover before, so I'm intrigued by that one. Unfortunately, I can only find ELF here at Old Navy stores...SMH.
ReplyDeleteI posted about the contouring brush and the lip stick remover back in Dec and I am still obsessed with both! I really want to try the bubble mask! Definitely next on my must-buy list! <3, Pamela Sequins & Sea Breezes
ReplyDeleteOoh I can't wait to try the bubble mask and for your video!
ReplyDeleteThe contour brush is one of my favorites. So far, I haven't been super blown away with their new skin care products, but I'm still hoping some of them will be a hit. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI have a few ELF brushes but have never tired their makeup or skin care line. I'm intrigued with the bubble mask and lip exfoliator!

yay disney next week! how exciting. i had to unsubscribe from elf's emails lol they send so many! i don't think i actually have any of their products, maybe a couple of brushes. their little stand thing is always ransacked at my target, and that's the only place i can buy them (or online, but i like to see things in person lol). have a good weekend!
ReplyDeleteI keep hearing more & more about Elf products - they are really getting their name out there at least.
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool about the mask! It looks really neat on. I am definitely getting this for my dry skin!
ReplyDeleteWe actually have an ELF store in NYC. Now I know what I should pick up. That contour brush sounds really fab.
ReplyDeleteI really like ELF brushes, but I need to venture into the skincare. You have me sold on that bubble mask!
ReplyDeleteWow, I'm such a newbie.... What's a bubble mask? haha How have I never heard of this? If this is an elf version of what you say works wonders, sign me up!
ReplyDeleteI wish they sold Elf product here in Germany. I so want the selfie brush. Have a great weekend.

The contouring brush and bubble mask definitely interest me!
ReplyDeleteI am really interested in the bubble mask! I have never heard of a bubble mask. And, the brush cleaning wipes sound great for when you're on the go or traveling.

I don't think I've ever used Elf cosmetics but some of those brushes sound lovely as well as the cleanser wipes.
ReplyDeleteI love that you help research new product topics! That mask sounds like such a cool idea!
ReplyDeleteThat Gel Melt Cleanser sounds fabulous! I just ran out of my cleanser that I normally travel with, so this sounds like a great new try! I finally realized that if I exfoliate my lips in the morning, my lipstick doesn't flake, so I feel like I need that elf exfoliator and the one that you can make on your own! Have so much fun at Disney! I can't wait to hear all about it!
ReplyDeleteI have an ELF store in the mall near me, I have to go see of these are in there! Thanks for sharing Elle!!
ReplyDeleteHow COOL is it that you've been able to see a product you helped develop appear in different ways in the market!!! That is so neat. I love your review videos because it helps me know what to try or not. I tend to stick with a product once I like it, so I'm not too adventurous...your reviews help me find new favs! I wonder if the ELF bubble mask would be good for someone with combination/oily skin? I also think you get closer to the camera in your reviews because you just get excited about what you're discussing. I love that about you!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see the brow post!! Thanks for taking my suggestion. I'm going to geek out when I see it!
I have never used Elf, but their cute packaging is so tempting! It is good to know what is worthwhile. Thanks for your comment on my blog. It is very reassuring to know about others who have gone through the cleft palate surgery. Fortunately it is relatively common, but still scary to us. Happy Friday and yay for your upcoming trip!
ReplyDeleteHooray for Walt Disney World! That's so soon! I'm excited for you! :)
ReplyDeleteGIRL! That's awesome about the mask!! Go you! I love that you got to be a part of developing a whole new product. And I'm glad to hear you recommend this one. I'm totally going to check it out!
Ooo... the bubble mask sounds fun - can't wait for the review! I've seen others that are wayyyyy more expensive.
ReplyDeleteI use some ELF brushes but haven't really ventured into their makeup much.
What a great haul! I'm intrigued by the Brush Cleanser Wipes :)
ReplyDeleteI've been meaning to try their skincare! That mask sounds really nice, the texture sounds very interesting, with the bubbling and all, haha.
ReplyDeleteI like ELF products! Not everything they put out is amazing, but for the price it's pretty good! Great review!
ReplyDelete~Sara
Great post! I love ELF products, but their brushes don't play well with my skin. They always seem to shed on me, regardless of which brush it is.

Love that you introduce me to new things, like bubble masks. Really? Omg, must get my hands on some!!
ReplyDeleteI think, the best part about hauls like this is opening the box full of goodies. :) At least, for me. Thank you for the review, Elle.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, GFC nearly gave me a heart attack last week when the number just dropped. x
Lots of fun goodies here! I love the price of ELF products. I'd love to try the foundation blush and the lip exfoliator!
ReplyDeleteI sucked up the dollar difference to try out their brushes and make up because of this post. It was like a 15$ difference canadian lol. I have heard of Elf before so i am excited to try the shadows.
ReplyDeleteThat's cool you get to work with brands in the product development phase! I love bubbly mask :)
ReplyDeleteThat kabuki brush is HUGE. elf is definitely hit or miss so thanks for these reviews :)
I love ELF. They are so budget friendly too. I must try the first two brushes, the brush cleaning wipes, both face products you recommend and the lipstick remover.
ReplyDeleteOh I havent gotten anything new from elf in awhile so this is so great to see some of their new products. I've been wanting a contouring brush like that but they all have been way too much so I'm glad this one works well. Also that bubble mask is so cool, I have never heard of anything like that before, I need to try it!

I love the High Definition Powder and like the few brushes I have tried of theirs. Glad to know about the emails though...I can't stand receiving a lot of emails from the same company!
