L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation Review

Last week I did a post (see it here) on the latest products from Sephora and ULTA, and the L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation was among the list. And after nearly a month of testing, I'm here with my review! Get ready for a thorough one.

L'Oreal Paris Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation
  • $12.99
  • 1 oz
  • 12 shades
  • Liquid foundation--shake first, somewhat runny
  • Purchase: ULTA.com, walmart.com, amazon.com--check often to see if your shade is restocked
    • I have seen it at Walmart and Walgreens, but expect to see it in more drugstores/box stores soon
  • Best for: dry or normal skin
  • Coverage: light to medium
  • Finish: radiant
  • Broad Spectrum SPF 15
  • Air-light feel

I tested this using various primers, no primers, moisturizers, and bare skin. Below is a demo of the Pro-Glow on half of my face to show coverage.

On your left, bare face...on your right, applied with beautyblender.
  • I also tested this using Real Techniques sponge and a bb knockoff from ULTA.
On your left, bare face...on your right, applied with clean hands

Left pic: applied with brush with a moisturizer as a base--the glow comes from my 2 soft lightboxes
Right pic: pic taken using a flash
  • I also tested this using various techniques (stippling, swirling, buffing, etc) and with various brushes from Makeup Geek, Sigma, and Real Techniques, among others
Wear time:
  • I tested this between 2 and 19 hours of wear. I still had product on my face but didn't have the coverage. An average wear time in the summer has been between 4-6 hours with no powder.
  • I even wore this twice swimming and it lasted, although it had faded to a light coverage. I also did not experience any sunburn from wearing it nor break outs.
Temps: I tested this in temperatures ranging from 68 to 103 degrees, with a heat index of 113. See video for a pic to see how well it lasted.

Similar to other L'Oreal Foundations? No--see more in the video below.
  • It does oxidize (get darker) on me. I noticed the shades run lighter but it works out since it gets darker in the end.
Overall: Feels very light on the skin and gives a satin finish if I'm wearing no primer or a mattifying one. Gives a dewy finish if used with a moisturizer--my preference. I really like it and would repurchase. Dry and normal skin would like this best.

I made a video giving an in-depth look at the Pro-Glow Foundation, so please, please check it out (plus Charlie is in it):

Have you heard of this foundation?

Extra Elle:
  • Thanks for reading the review and watching the video--I worked hard on this one!
  • Happy July and happy 4th of July weekend!!

  3. Excellent and thorough review! I need to find this! I am currently using the maybelline dream finish for everyday wear and finding it alright but this one sounds much better! Have a great 4th!

  5. That's awesome that it lasted throughout your pool time and still provided at least a little bit of coverage!

  7. I hadn't heard of this one yet.
I love a product that's supposed to give long lasting coverage & not just fade away

  8. I wish my skin was more on the natural side, I would love to try this. But my skin is oily...so it would be pointless to try it.
It looks amazing on you, I love the finish, so natural! I will be watching your video as well!
What shade are you wearing? I have a hard time with the L'Oreal Pro Matte, since they oxidize! Shade 102 looks good but it's too pink for me and shade 103 has the perfect amount of yellow for me, but it's oxidizes so much! Ugh...the struggle is REAL!
Hope you and Charlie have a great weekend!

  10. I loved your video, Elle! It's such a good one and I love you edited it and how in depth your review was! I love the pro matte version, but I think this one wouldnt be good for my oily skin! It looks natural and pretty on you, that it makes me want to try it anyways haha! I wish they would increase their shade range for these, I have to get the lightest one for the pro matte, the second lightest is too dark for me unless I have self tanner lol!

  11. This is the first I'm hearing of this foundation! I learn about so many new products from you. So cute to see Charlie's sweet little face behind you in the video :)

  12. I really want to try this but am iffy...I love the Pro Matte but the L'Oreal Lumi didn't work well with my skin type and was too tacky...thanks for doing this review! Going to watch your video!

  13. Great to see another vid from you, Elle:) And thanks for the review on this one. As you said, although it's not HG right now, it does pretty fab, esp seeing that pic with half-no-makeup and half-with-the-foundation on a super hot day. That's pretty cool!

  15. Thank you so much for doing a review on this! It sounds like something I'd like for summer just to get a little more of a dewy finish (since I always use moisturizer). It looks beautiful on your skin!

  16. Yay for Charlie! Happy 4th and I hope you have a great weekend!

  17. As always you are thorough in your reviews and I feel comfortable purchasing this (if I can find it!). Elle, you rock and that's why I love your channel/blog! Happy 4th.☆

  18. I thought about getting this one, but I don't think it would work for me in the summer. I get really oily in the crazy heat. Maybe, I'll think about it for winter. Thanks for the review!

  19. The finish is beautiful on you, Elle and this has my name all over it. I have yet to see it here in Canada but I'll definitely be giving this a go.

  20. Right now I am using a tinted moisturizer for summer. I may step back to foundations in the fall if I do I will try this out. Or I may try mineral foundation again.

  22. Dear Elle, let me see if I remember all, to say what I liked better! Because I am eager to try it! Everything that has Glow on the label, I love :) Well some were good, some were not.It seems that this L'Oreal Infallible pro-glow foundation is good. Lasting power good; used with moisturizer, good, it is dewy then, I like it. Oxidiing, mmm, Ok, if it gets darker, as you said. For me the only problem is that I would like to go to the pool with it, but the temperatures where I spend summer are higher. Nevertheless, I would love to try it!

  31. Hmmm not sure if this would suit me as my skin is more on the combination side. That said it is getting dryer as I get older! X

  36. I'm glad you did a video on this one. I've missed your videos and Charlie appearances, of course! I know I'm way too oily to even try this, but I've heard nothing but good things about it. I liked the Pro Matte a lot.

  40. I have read sooo many reviews on this stuff and I'm still not sure if I should try it out or not. Perhaps this fall. I find illuminating foundations to look bad on me in the summer when it's hot and I'm always oily. The Lumi cushion is about all I can deal with in terms of luminous right now. lol

  41. I'm so glad you reviewed this! I have been curious about it since I love the matte version so much (also thanks to one of your reviews from last year). I have pretty normal skin so I feel like I could make this work, but that it would just have such a different look/feel than the matte (since you mentioned that they are pretty much opposites). Also, as a side note - I love how thorough you are with your reviews (all weather and applications and etc etc). You are awesome, Elle!

  42. The shade I have is a little off but I love the glow it adds to my face.
