For every expensive skincare brand I use, I am always on the quest to find something affordable that works. I mean, who wouldn't love to save some money when it comes to beauty products?
People are always kind of surprised to hear this, or even know this about me, but I have freckles, which I find adorable on everyone but myself. I always try to hide them with foundation, but as I get older, I don't want to use thick makeup, especially in warmer months. And in Atlanta, that's majority of the year. I want my skin to look healthy, and not serve as a constant reminder of how I never wore sunscreen as a kid. I shudder about that now--I never leave the house without that now.
Couple that with uneven skin tone. Could I find a product that would work to address these issues?
I know a lot of you have uneven skin tone and dull skin like I do, so I thought you'd be interested in this.
I took the Garnier Clearly Brighter Challenge and tried Garnier SkinActive® Clearly Brighter™ Brightening & Smoothing Daily Moisturizer SPF 15. And I'm loving what I'm seeing y'all.
What Is It?
- daily moisturizer
- There are tons of moisturizers out there, so what makes this one special? Antioxidant Vitamin C
- Evens skin tone
- Skin looks brighter and smoother-looking in just 1 week*
- Oil-free
- Lightweight
My Experience:
Here's a before and after--makeup-free! The after is from 2 weeks of using. I tried to replicate the before pic as closely as possible with lighting, time of day, camera settings, etc. It was a brighter day in the before pic though.
I can see some brightening and while it's kind of impossible to see smoother skin, my skin feels smoother.
I had no breakouts and while it's oil-free, my dry skin loved it: just the right amount of moisture without being greasy or too heavy. It's been nice using it at the end of summer and heading into fall. Plus it has SPF 15, so it's been easy to apply in the morning before I put on my makeup.

And here I am in natural makeup--I used to be uncomfortable leaving the house without makeup, and now I can go without or keep it really light, like I am here. I'm wearing Garnier SkinActive® Clearly Brighter™ Brightening & Smoothing Daily Moisturizer SPF 15, a light foundation, clear lip gloss and mascara. How quick and easy is that?

With all the sun damage I have, my picture is under the dictionary definition of uneven skin tone.
ReplyDeleteYou have the BEST skin and yay for affordable products that are easily accessible!
ReplyDeleteI have never heard of this specific product from them. I have a bit of uneven skin as well. I have a horrible sun spot on my cheek from my younger, dumber years and red splotches in a few places too. I will have to look in to this one because I love affordable! Your skin always looks so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard about this! So glad it worked for you, Elle! I have freckles too, and I always kind of though that's why my main tone looks unevenb
ReplyDeleteI bought this not to long ago, and I love it! I love how it makes my skin feel and look, it is really one of those drug-store products that really work well! I also love how it's in a pump bottle and not in a squeeze tube like most moisturizers can be in, find it hard to gage how much or little to use pumps are so much nicer. Also love how much product you get with this too and the smell is amazing !!

I need to try that! I used to love my freckles growing up, but now they feel so obnoxious all over my skin! I love the fact that it's lightweight too because that would be perfect in high humidity places!
ReplyDeleteI love finding out about affordable skincare. I'm glad this is working for you. Thanks for sharing this Elle!
ReplyDeleteI have very uneven skin thanks to sun, freckles, and acne scars. I haven't seen this particular Garnier product though! And I really need affordable skincare because I don't know anyone that can actually afford $200 serum. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteLove that photo of you Elle! I'm on the hunt for a new moisturizer.. these days my skin is pretty dry, maybe because of the pregnancy.. thanks for sharing. Love that it's available in several places!!

ReplyDeleteWow, this product is really cool. I have not seen it in Germany. We get all the new products always so late...
ReplyDeleteLovely greets Nessa
I wonder if this would be good for those mornings when I let myself sleep a little later and then I hurry out the door, without as much makeup as usual. On those mornings, I usually just dab some concealer under my eyes and put a bit of eyeliner at the corners of my eyes.
ReplyDeleteI love that you reviewed this moisturizer because I recently started using it after 10+ years of Oil of Olay and I do love the light texture of this product.
ReplyDeleteYou are gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteI remember seeing new Garnier skincare in drugstores, but the only thing I've tried is the micellar water. My skincare routine right now is mainly drugstore and I love finding good drugstore products. I'm going to add this to my to try list!
ReplyDeleteAs I've gotten older, I prefer lighter lotions and makeup, too! I just feel it shows the fine lines I'm starting to get a lot less. For some reason, I didn't realize you had freckles... but, maybe I just didn't notice them until you called them out today. I think you look adorable either way, but I do love how this lightens your overall face!
