One of my favorites is the Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm. But it's also $29. So when I happened to be at Walmart and saw their version, I knew some dupe testing would be in order. Let's see if I have a dupe for Clinique Take the Day Off or not?
ULTA, Sephora
$29
Wal-Mart
$5.44
Here's a comparison of them both removing waterproof eyeliner. Clinique is at the top, Equate is at the bottom. I love the texture of both of these products and they make removing makeup a breeze. While a little more difficult to find, the Equate is definitely a dupe. I'm not sure I can go back to the Clinique after finding this gem.
Do you like cleansing balms?
Extra Elle:
Still getting over being sick--it's all good now--so I took my weekend very easy. I hope yours was wonderful!

I love cleansing balms. I haven't tried many but the Emma Hardie one is my favourite, the next one I want to try is either Clinique's or Pixi's. Great dupe post and such a massive saving too, great find, thanks for sharing xxx

Oh wow! Thanks for this comparison, Elle! The Equate looks/sounds like a great dupe for sure.
ReplyDeleteGlad you're finally feeling better! I've never tried these, but it sounds like Equate is the way to go. I usually use generic make-up wipes and save up for the actual make up. :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried the Clinique product but I don't think I need to now after you've discovered this totally affordable dupe!
ReplyDeleteWhen they work pretty much the same, I will always go with the more inexpensive option! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI've never tried a balm like this before. That's exactly why I love blogging---I learn about some fabulous new products!! Thanks!

I'm glad to hear you're feeling better now. It would be pretty hard to justify buying the Clinique one with the other being so effective and super cheap too! I find these comparison posts so useful. xx

My jaw hit the floor when I saw this. I love the Clinique but I stopped using it because it was so expensive. You have hit the mother load with this dupe. Going to check my wal mart ASAP!

Elle, even the names are a little bit similar - Clinique Take the day off and Equate wipe the day away... I mean, it's the same concept, or maybe I am mistaken - I am under some stress and am a bit strange these days :) I would definitely stay with Equate, since you said it's definitely a dupe and I can see by the pictures (removing makeup swatches). I hope you feel totally well soon! And me too :)

Looks a great budget dupe. Very nice detailed article.

I've never tried a cleansing balm. But yeah, why pay $24 when the Equate does the job? And looks like it does a better job!
ReplyDeleteI've never tried cleansing balms. I use an oil to take my makeup off. I have a few questions. Does this clog drains? Also is it fragrance free? I have a dreadful time with some fragrances so I try my best to steer clear of most. I'm wondering if this would be a good alternative to drain clogging coconut oil?
ReplyDeleteI fell in love with the clinique balm when I worked for Clinique and I still have a lot of it. When I run out, I will definitely try the equate!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to know it is a good dupes. I've seen it in Walmart so many times and wondered about it. Thanks for the review!
ReplyDeleteI've tried one or two of Equate's dupe-type products, but this one is the most interesting to me. I just picked up the Pixi Double Cleanse, so I should probably wait to try the dupe at Walmart. 😩😩😩 My dry skin and I have seriously been loving cleansing balms lately!
ReplyDeleteI've never tried a cleansing balm but I'm in desperate need of new skin care regime. I'll check this out!
