So what's on the menu for today? It's Review Day, Tuesday, y'all! And up for today is the new Sonic Foundation Brush from Clarisonic I was sent. This has been on my radar to try, so after lots of experimenting, I'm happy to report back my results. I was so skeptical of this--would this really work? But I ended up being very surprised.
First off, this is a brush head--it's an attachment that goes on any Clarisonic. I didn't want you to think that you had to buy the whole kit and caboodle! You can tell how different it is from a regular Clarisonic brush head, as pictured in the background. And it is soft--not harsh on the face.
The Clarisonic Makeup Brush utilizes patented oscillation technology to generate more than 18,000 micro-blends per minute. The makeup brush gently provides a flawless, full foundation coverage look in 60 seconds or less. You can use it to blend any cream or liquid foundation (that includes stick foundation), bb/cc cream, concealer, blush, color correctors, highlight, or contour. Do not use this with powder products.
Equipped with anti-microbial and non-porous bristles, it is easy to clean and ensures minimal absorption so you use less foundation. Great for all skin types.
Before shot time, y'all! For this demo, I used Armani foundation for dry skin--this has a medium coverage. I used concealer, highlight, contour, and blush on the left (your left) side of my face. You simply dot the products on and then blend with the brush. I tested this putting everything on at once, but it worked best to blend in the same order as I normally would apply makeup.
Can you tell the difference? Now for the right side of my face, I decided to use a beautyblender for pictures. I tested this out with brushes and my fingers as well.
Hopefully you can see, the Clarisonic Sonic Foundation brush head gave me a fuller coverage. I know I'm super critical of myself, but I can still see my freckles shining through on the right. I felt the finish was similar for both.
Here's what I liked: one brush for everything. I think of my friends who are super low-maintenance when it comes to makeup--they'd love this. I truly was able to use this to blend my products in my regular routine. I think at $35, it's not a bad price because it would prevent you from having to buy additional brushes for the face.
If you already have a Clarisonic, just get this added on. It would be great for travel.
I love the finish of this--I find it comparable to a beautyblender--a flawless finish that is never cakey. I recommend it, if it fits the criteria for you. Order here or find in stores where it's sold.
However, I did not like this to blend out my concealer. It's a personal preference though. I didn't want this tugging at the skin under my eyes. I don't like how you'd have to buy the unit and this brush head to be able to use it. But overall, I was very pleased!
Have you heard of this or tried it? Would you?
This looks really fun! I love the finish it gave to your skin you look flawless xx

I did not realize that Clarisonic had this option. What a great idea especially for travel. You could just pack up your system and go. Love the coverage it gave you.

So sorry about your tires; that's not fun at all! I think this looks great, but I don't know how I would feel about the brush on my face. I guess I kind of like the control you get otherwise. I should probably stock up on some beauty blenders then!
ReplyDeleteI really want to try this with my Clarisonic - I've read a couple of positive reviews and think it's time to give it a go. I hope it works for me...

You tires blew out? That sucks, Elle but at least you got home safe. I don't have a Clarisonic and for sure I won't be getting this. I a happy with my sponges and buffing brushes.
ReplyDeleteI was skeptical too but seeing the coverage I'm sold. Sorry your tires blew out. That happened to me not too long ago. Good to see you back.

Wow - I'm actually impressed. I thought it would just sort of rub the make up in the bristles.
ReplyDeleteDidn't know they came out with this, but it looks like it provides pretty great coverage!
ReplyDeleteI’m sorry to hear about your tire disaster, but I’m happy to hear you are ok. I’ve seen some scary tire blow ups in my day, I’ve even lived through one. Wow this new clarisonic brush works very very well. I can totally tell the difference.
ReplyDeleteI have not heard of this but I'm so happy that you posted about it. I love it. Totally need to get one. I too like a fuller coverage and I think this would be perfect for me.
ReplyDeleteSorry about the tires. As they say if it has tires or testicles it will always give you trouble, hee hee. Moving on, I did not know they made such a thing and I can tell the difference in your side by side. thanks for the review!
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard of this before! The finish and coverage looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds really interesting! Thanks for sharing the before and after photos. I found the clarisonic to be too drying/ harsh for my skin but perhaps I'll have better with the foundation brush. It does seem perfect for when you want to get your makeup done quickly!

oh my gosh, this is so interesting! i don't have a Clarisonic but if i did i would be interested in this for sure. definitely not for around the eyes like you said though. i do enough damage with rubbing my eyes with allergies, don't need more tugging lol.
ReplyDeletesorry about your tires! that is the absolute worst.
Bummer about your tires but hope you had a nice visit with your family. I have a Clarisonic and I'm low maintenance so I think I will need to try this brush. Thanks for sharing your experience!
ReplyDeleteI had not heard of this before reading this post- how cool! I think the finish is beautiful- your skin looks flawless!

OMG! I so need this in my life! I already have a Clarisonic. I do agree, I think I would rather put on my concealer under my eyes with my blender, since that skin is delicate.

Wow! That provides a gorgeous finish! I can definitely see a difference! I don't think I'd be using it around my eyes either though.
ReplyDeleteVery interesting, thanks for sharing this
ReplyDeleteWow! This is awesome! I had no idea Clarisonic came out with this. I can totally tell the difference in your picture - you're also glowing a bit more on the Clarisonic side!
ReplyDeleteIt looks beautiful but I'm not sure I could ever get used to the application process. I'd definitely be willing to give it a try though!
ReplyDeleteI have been dying to try out this brush, it sounds really good but I doubt you could buy it here in SA :( I can see the difference in the picture, the coverage is just what i need :) xx

Absolutely flawless application with the clarisonic - i need to dust mine out and get that new brush head!! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston
ReplyDeleteI had something like this for removing makeup. The issue for me came in the clean up. You can only use the bristles for so long before they start holding onto stuff permanently.
ReplyDeleteI almost bought this at Ulta but I was waiting for a good review. I think I'm going to get it and give it a try. Your skin looks flawless and air brushed! I love full coverage so I think I'd like this. Ive got an Ulta gift card that has been burning a hole in my pocket and I think I'm going to use it on this.
ReplyDeleteThis coverage looks really nice! Glad you are liking it. I don't know if I would like it for concealer either.
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard of this, but it looks like it worked really well! The coverage looks perfect.

I had no clue they came out with a brush head but the end result looks flawless on you. Good news it's just an attachment and you don't have to buy the whole package. I just wish my Clarisonic wouldn't die so quickly. Literally one use and then it dies.
ReplyDeleteI can totally see a difference in the picture! I've been curious about this so I might have to pick this up!
ReplyDeleteOoh! My Clarisonic brush has been in the back of a drawer for quite some time, so this might just be the perfect reason to pull it back out. I noticed that Target now sells brush head replacements (Up & Up), so I wonder if they'll eventually add foundation brush heads, too.
ReplyDeleteI'm so intrigued! I haven't heard of this brush, but I really want to try it now :)
ReplyDeleteI've never tried the clarisonic before, but this is a great review for whenever I'm ready to try it!
ReplyDeleteWhoa! That's badass babe! The coverage looks great from the photos. I've been swearing by my Clarisonic for YEARS now but never even knew they made the makeup attachment heads. Brilliant!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the blog visit babe, hope to see you back for my latest TRAVEL GUIDE: Japan in 10 days- The PERFECT itinerary for Japan first timers!

ReplyDeleteI didn't know that they made a foundation brush like this. I can actually see the difference in your pictures! Pretty cool! Ugh tires and car stuff....I hate adulting some days.
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of this before! And the brush fits on the one I already have? This is going on my wishlist right now!
