The staff was very warm and welcoming and the facility was so gorgeous. I met my stylist Quiana, and we discussed the process and how I wanted my lashes to look. They can use mink or silk and have different lengths and styles. I have decent lashes already and wanted them to look natural.
Then it came time to apply them. You arrive makeup-free and the process can take an hour or two, depending on the look you are wanting to achieve. You lie down on the spa bed with headphones while they apply the lashes. Most people go to sleep! It didn't hurt at all--it felt like someone was brushing my lashes over and over. They use an adhesive to apply them and they typically fall out like regular lashes do, within a couple of weeks or longer. Results depend on how you treat them--no waterproof mascara, no rubbing the eyes or oily makeup removers. You can wear shadow, eyeliner, mascara, etc. like normal. They are COMPLETELY SAFE for your eyes. They do NOT cause your lashes to fall out. They don't itch or feel different in any way--I don't feel like I'm wearing falsies. It's wonderful!
Here is a before and after of my lashes--can you see how fuller and longer they are in the pic on the right? Note: I am wearing mascara in the before pic, but there are true before/after at the end of the post.
Here's another after--don't they look gorgeous?? When I wear false lashes, I can feel them, and depending on the type, I can kind of see them in my vision. But with eyelash extensions, they didn't feel like anything, just my regular lashes, no heaviness at all.
I love how low maintenance they are! I don't have to wear mascara! In fact, I've been asked what mascara I'm wearing and I'm not wearing any when I've been asked. I did want to show a pic of my left eye with mascara vs just extensions on the right.
More before/after pics! Please excuse my no makeup and all.
I'm just so thrilled with the results and cannot recommend them enough! I'll be updating this post with answers to your questions, so please leave them below.
Would you get eyelash extensions?
Extra Elle:
Lots of beauty testing has been going on for me--hasn't been time for much else! This week has flown by for me.
Gorgeous! How long are they supposed to last for?
ReplyDeleteYour lash extensions will shed with your normal lash growth cycle - we lose 20% of our lashes every 2-3 weeks and grow new lashes. So, within 2-3 weeks, your lashes will look less full, but still nice. If you want to keep a full look, you will want to get a refill every 2 weeks.
DeleteThese lashes look amazing on you! Lash extensions are the best. I've got them and loved them except the upkeep was really hard and expensive. Thanks for sharing your experience!

The rsult is amazing, but the fact that you are not allowed to wear eyemakeup kind of puts me off. And please do a follow up post if they did damage your lashes.

Linda, you can actually wear make-up with lash extensions; however, most clients with extensions feel the do not need to wear any mascara when they have extensions!
DeleteThey Looks Lovely! So natural they are really pretty x

Your lash extensions look so good and so natural too! I've thought about trying it before, but I don't think that I'd be very good at the upkeep!
ReplyDeleteWow the lash extensions look amazing on you. I have never tried it before and I'd love to treat myself to them sometime. You look amazing even without makeup. Thanks for sharing about this.

I am tempted to get lash extensions but I have heard so many horror stories about losing our own lashes too and I just don't want to risk it.
ReplyDeleteLash extensions applied by a well trained stylist should never cause a loss of your natural lashes. It is important for the stylist to keep in mind the thickness and length of your natural lashes and not apply extensions that are too long or heavy to be supported by your natural lashes.
DeleteI always said I would like to try it but a friend of mine did it for awhile & then, her real lashes took a beating- so thin & fell out. scared me to death of doing these. At least long term. For short term, I think they'd be perfect for an occassion or vacation.
ReplyDeleteThey look so good!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I'd ever get false lashes just because I think my husband would think it was silly, but they look AMAZING on you! I think it's neat too that you don't really have to wear mascara when you have them too, and it sounds like a relaxing process!
ReplyDeletewow! they look amazing elle!! xo jillian - cornflake dreams
ReplyDeleteYour lashes look gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYour lash extensions look great! I still don't bother with false lashes, even though I think they look beautiful. Extensions might be the low-maintenance option I need =) Removing mascara is always a pain in the butt for me lol
ReplyDeleteI've debated getting this but I LOVE my mascara! Do they itch at all?
ReplyDeleteThe Adored Life
Wow! What a great difference! I don't think I have the time or budget for these all the time, but they would be fun to get once in a while for something special! Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteWow your lashes look beautiful! I've always wanted to get extensions too!
ReplyDeleteThis looks amazing! I've been thinking of getting eyelash extensions myself and this was great for my research! :]

I just started going to Amazing Lash Studio and Buckhead and I am hooked! I am bummed it took me so long to try it out! Yours look gorgeous as well!
ReplyDeleteI love how it looks! I did get extensions in once, but I couldn't get the ones I wanted because my natural lashes are so fine. Sigh. But I still had a lot of fun with them, though they did look a bit funny once they started to fall off. Hehe. But I will do them again for a special occasion!
ReplyDeleteI am definitely going to give eye lash extension a shot coz I have been looking for the perfect alternative of fake lashes. Thank You for the info, Elle :)
ReplyDeleteWow...these turned out fabulous Elle!
ReplyDeleteMy mom used to wear fake eyelashes, and the glue would always show---it looked so tacky! But these extensions look so natural!
How often do you need to touch them up? And what's the cost usually?

The results look totally amazing!
ReplyDeleteYour lashes look so good! I've thought about extensions but I'm just not sure about the upkeep.
ReplyDeleteThey look great and very natural. Not too bold or long like I've seen some girls sporting, which has scared me away from trying them.
ReplyDeleteThey look SO great on you! I definitely need to try them again!!

Wow! They look so awesome! I want them so bad, but don't think I can justify the cost right now because you have to get them every few weeks, right? Maybe when I'm back to work and actually do my makeup every day again. Haha!
ReplyDeleteThey look amazing on you Elle! My cousins get them and I love the way they look! I don't know if I could justify the cost/ time to get them done, but they totally look beautiful on you!
ReplyDeleteI really like how they turned out! I think I would get lash extensions.
