Anyway, normally I just say thanks and run away, but this time I told her exactly what I did and used (the products on this post), and then went into a tangent about dupes and well, here we are. I'm comparing the $44 Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray to $14 Kristin Ess Dry Finish Working Texture Spray.
What Is a Dry Texturizing Spray?
Part dry shampoo, part hairspray, this product is designed to give texture and some volume to dried hair. It does not take the place of dry shampoo.
How Do You Use Dry Texturizing Spray?
This depends on the brand, but Garnier says from roots to mid shaft, about 8-12 inches, scrunching optional. Oribe says 5-6 inches from roots and tousle hair.

So is it a dupe or not? I will say that I prefer the scent and hold better of the Oribe, but the Kristin Ess (hairstylist for Lauren Conrad) version is really great and is a wonderful option.
Have you tried either version?
I have the purse size version of the Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray and it has lasted forever. I can't ever go into Trader Joe's and come out with just one thing either ;p

Hi Elle, I have never used this type of spray before but it sounds really good. I really like the way your hair looks with both sprays but the cheaper dupe is nice that it's not as expensive! Thanks for this review and I will have to try out this type of spray.

I don't use texturizing spray but I hear people rave about the oribe one. Good to k ow there's a more affordable option out there!
ReplyDeleteTrader Joe's is my kryptonite too. Going today and hope to just get what is on my list! My hairdresser uses the Oribe on me when at the salon amd I love the way it smells. I just use regular old dry shampoo at home.

ReplyDeleteI've never tried a texturizing spray just because my hair has so much natural texture. Sometimes a little extra volume is nice though, especially when I am styling day old hair. I'll keep these in mind!
