This post is brought
to you by Rogaine. All opinions are my own.
Of all the roles I play in my life: nanny,
blogger, dog mom, or daughter, one of my favorite roles is being a big sister.
From the moment my little sister Holly (she will always be my lil sis even
though she is way taller than me) was born I had hoped we would be close, and
that has definitely been true. As different as we can be, we always have fun
together, usually with bellyaching laughs occurring throughout. I've always
felt like we can tell each other anything. I love her and what kind of a big
sister would I be if I wasn’t concerned with her future?
She'll always be my little sister |
In the video below, we had a sister chat and
talked about our family and the hereditary traits we share--our hair is
naturally wavy and we have freckles--Holly calls them Angel Kisses. Some of the
traits aren't as fun--our family goes grey in our twenties, we have a long
history of skin cancer, and we have hereditary hair loss. As her older sister,
I want Holly to avoid the mistakes I've made and to know there are options out
there to get ahead of the qualities we don’t love. Luckily, we can do
things about those hereditary issues, like dying the grey away if we choose
(hello, me!), sunscreen all the time (I am constantly getting onto Holly to do
this), and Women’s Rogaine for hereditary hair loss.
Did you
know that more than one in four will experience hereditary hair loss? And
it can begin in the 20s, which is the decade Holly is in (source: 2014
Gallup). I am a huge fan of Women's
Rogaine to get ahead of this. It reactivates the hair follicles to
stimulate regrowth. And it works.
This hair growth treatment is clinically proven to regrow 25%
more hair with new hairs growing in up to 48% thicker than before.
Women’s ROGAINE 5% Minoxidil Topical Aerosol is the first FDA-approved
once daily treatment. It turns out, Women’s ROGAINE Foam is super easy to fit
into your daily beauty regimen. Just apply the foam once a day. You can get
more application details here. Your hair won't get
greasy or weighed down.
It works right alongside your regular beauty products--I really liked knowing
that you don't have to change your routine, or change all of your products,
just add an easy and fast step. If you have color treated hair, you can use
this! You can use it morning or night. And if used daily, results should start
in 12 weeks.
Since Holly has expressed concern about that
hair loss, she will be using the Women’s Rogaine, and will update on here in a
couple of months. I can’t wait to share her progress!

Aaaaaw...you two are too cute:D And do update us on how she fares with the Rogaine. Although it's not a hereditary thing for my fam, my mom did say she's starting to see some thinning on some parts of her head.

ReplyDeleteIt's so nice that you and your sister are so close :) I have a brother but have always wondered what it would be like to have a sister to share clothes and makeup with. x
ReplyDeleteIt was so nice to see you with your sister! You guys are so cute, I loved the clip in the beginning with your guys laughing! This product sounds great and I love that there is products like these to help with hair loss!

Aww, you're such a good older sister! Yay for sunscreen and using rogaine if you need it.
ReplyDeleteI'm an only child, but I'm a big sister to my SIL now ;) I love my family's freckles. I didn't know women's hair loss was so widespread.

You and sister are adorable! It's sweet how close you are!
ReplyDeleteYou guys are really adorable. Cute vid Elle!
ReplyDeleteI am lucky to have very thick hair and no hereditary hair loss, but we do have other hereditary issues. You are right that it's good to be aware of them and try to prevent them as much as possible!
ReplyDeleteShe is absolutely adorable!!!! I love her hair so much! I think I might have to try the Rogaine as I have tried everything else with mediocre results. Maybe this is what I have needed all along. Cant wait to hear her thoughts on it!
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to hear more about this. After my last pregnancy I feel I am losing more and more hair.. and it has me concerned.
ReplyDeleteOh how lovely, it is nice that you and your sister are so close. You know I was thinking of doing a blog post on this. I see woman of all ages and quite young with noticeably thinning hair. I don't think it was like this back in the day I think this is a very recent problem and I think it is something in our modern day environment that is effecting the endocrine system.

I hope it works well for Holly! It's good to know what type of thing run in your family. A big push for me to join my weight loss program is that diabetes runs in my family.

I love hair products, but I'm losing confidence that they actually help with growing your hair faster, etc. I think they do have some sort of effect, but "no magic". My hair falls like crazy, so I might actually try some treatment. Not this, since we don't have it in Finland, but maybe more masks or something. Lovely pic with your sis!
ReplyDeleteYou and your sister are adorable. I have really fine hair but alot of it. It's scary how much now falls out in the shower. Will have to check this out.
ReplyDeleteyour sister looks adorable! it's good to be close with your sister no matter big or lil.
ReplyDeletelooks like a nice product btw

What a cute video of you and your sister Elle! That's wonderful you too are so close!
ReplyDeleteI loved to read about being a big sis, how cool is to have sisters? I don't, but I am cool with my brothers. We also have freckles, but not hair loss. But you know what, I always tell you that one of my best friends has hair loss severe, and I always love to read such posts to recommend to her. Never could I imagine you had it too!

My family goes gray early. My dad got his first gray hair at 15 and one of my sisters and I have them for years. I'm too young for gray hair! It's nice being the younger sister and being able to learn from the older gals. I have the video on my to watch list. I'm hoping to catch up on YouTube this weekend!
