- If needed, use some dry shampoo in the roots.
- For volume in the crown, use a teasing brush/comb or volumizing powder (used here). Spray the teased roots with hairspray if desired.
- Use bobby pins if desired to hold that poofed section. Smooth teased section down and spray for hold.
- Pull hair into ponytail with one hand, and instead of putting the elastic right in the middle of the back of your head, move it lower. Secure with elastic.
- Place the tail up flat on your head.
- Split ponytail into 2 sections, and pull the sections down to create more volume.
- Your elastic will have moved into the middle/upper part of your head.
slightly exaggerated poof
- Use end of teasing brush to pull up any flat sections of hair. That's it!

i must try this adding volume with dry shampoo thing
ReplyDeleteLove the casual/glamour thing! Now I just need to be less lazy... x
ReplyDeleteI do something similar, I pair a high ponytail with a small quiff (the non-dirty definition!) that I pin back with barrettes or hairpins in my hair color. Love the hairstyle, and so great on days when you don't have time to wash your hair but want to look pulled together!
ReplyDeleteGreat tutorial -- looks amazing!
