Father's Day Idea: Man Cans

Looking for a creative gift for Father's Day? How about a gift that gives back, too? Let me introduce you to Man Cans. I was sent one and you're going to want one too.

What Is It?

Man Cans are candles for men--in scents that men love. Man Cans was started two years ago by a 13 year old boy, who had an idea to create this product after seeing his sister sell candles. Um, when I was 13 I was all about boy bands and not becoming an entrepreneur! Not only do the candles smell fabulously, they support a great cause too! These would be perfect in an office or even a Man Cave (my step-dad has one. Happy birthday to him today, by the way!).

The scent of coffee already fills the air.

I was sent the Man Cans candle in Coffee. The scent of coffee resonates with me because it reminds me of my late Grandfather's house in Maryland. Plus, I happen to enjoy a cup or two of coffee myself. I could smell the candle before I even opened the package! If you like the scent of coffee, you'll love this.

one candle, one meal

The candles come in a soup can. The soup from each can feeds someone in need. Over 30,000 meals have been donated so far. I just love that. They do fundraising too with the candles.

What Scents Can I Get?
  • Coffee
  • Sawdust
  • Gun powder
  • Cigar
  • Fresh cut grass
  • Dirt
  • Memphis Style BBQ
  • NY Style Pizza
  • Campfire
  • Grandpa's pipe
  • New mitt
  • Bacon

the scent will wake you up!

How Well Does It Work? Cost?

Like I mentioned earlier, I could smell the candle before I lit it, so I wasn't surprised at the scent. It's very realistic and the candle are made from natural wax. The candles are $9.50

Where Can I Get One?

Man Cans are available online and in certain stores--check the list here. The candles come in minimal, recycled packaging, which I liked, but it did seem like mine had melted a smidge (assuming it's from mailing). The company was great to work with and they do accept returns if you're not satisfied. Go check 'em out!!!

  9. I actually love this idea! I'd be a little scared to purchase a scented candle called "gunpowder" but some of those scents are actually pretty manly and I am uber curious. Such a great cause as well! Nice find!

  27. how funny! I wonder what the gun powder, dirt, & pizza one smell like! idk about the pizza candle, haha! I am with you Elle, when I was 13 all I thought about was 98 degrees, Backstreet Boys, N'SYNC, & Hanson! LOL~! however, we did kool aid & ginger snaps to all of 2 cars in the neighborhood! 1 being a limo so I guess I was somewhat of an entrepreneur, lol!
