Beauty Grab Bag: July!

How was your 4th of July? I headed to out to a soiree for a couple hours (check out my Instagram--ellesees-for pics) but drove home instead of watching the fireworks. I love living in the city because I can climb on my roof and see at least 4 different firework shows. Good times. Something else I enjoy? BEAUTY PRODUCTS! Forget that awkward transition and enjoy July's Beauty Grab Bag:

Currently loving L'Oreal's Colour Riche Balm. All of the shades are beautiful and similar to the Revlon Lip Butters, in terms of moisturizing and as a sheer wash of color. They're much thinner than regular lipsticks, which is good for me because I have small lips. They're around $6. And I want them all!

Caring Coral & Rose Elixir

Another L'Oreal product I love would be the Infallible Eyeshadows. They're around $7.

pink sapphire, amber rush, bronzed taupe, smoldering plum

pink sapphire + Revlon's Strength of Pink polish

What makes these shadows unique is the texture. The shadows aren't loose, and you can press your finger on them. It feels almost like a bouncy/sponge-like quality. The colors are shimmery, but without fall out, and are true to appearance. Use finger or brush to apply. The colors don't fade or crease after many hours of wearing. Check out all 24 shades.

One last product in the July Beauty Grab bag (I think I change the title every time I type it out) I ended up loving is the Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 Hour Eyeshadow, $5-6.

Bad to the Bronze & Bold Gold

I have a love-hate relationship with cream shadows. They go on so well, but many of them crease after a few hours and then I look all crazy-eyed. That dilemma has been solved with the 24 Hour Shadows! I love them! I wear them as a primer before adding shadows, on top of regular shadow, or alone. This is great for a quick eye, when you want something on your lids but without a lot of effort. I don't like all the colors--they're very bright and pigmented, like orange, teal, blue, etc, but I love the two I own. The Bad to the Bronze looks similar to Mac's Paint Pot in Indianwood.

  3. Elle! Long time! Fun posts as usual. A beauty product that I like lately is L'Oreal's Infallible lip gloss. I get it in this purple tone and it's really pretty. The purple sort of throws you off but once on the lips it's different, really pretty. I love all of your posts and even though I haven't commented in a while you can bet I'm still reading!

    Take care!

  4. i love the look of those colour rich balms -- i love wearing colour on my lips but lip gloss and lipstick tends to dry them out -- maybe this would be the perfect alternative? :) xx

  8. I'd love to wear those creams - my eye lids do not respond well to very chunky products, unfortunately

  9. Oooh, I'm going to try that L'Oreal lip balm. I typically go for a darker eye, so I love me some sheer color on the lips :)

  11. We can also see a few fireworks shows from our building, and it's awesome! I love cream shadows and have recently been using the Elf brand from Target.

  17. I don't wear much lipstick (I'm a chapstick kinda gal), but I think I could actually handle the L'Oreal balm option! Hope you had a good 4th!

  18. Is it bad that I want to try all of this? :)

  19. Twenty-four hour eye shadows sound pretty good. I don't like the creasing that results from cream shadows, either.
