ColorWow Root Cover Up--This professional powder compound was formulated to adhere to hair without being sticky, oily and without looking dry. It's easy to use and is perfect for along the hairline and small areas of regrowth. I got mine at Ulta for around $35.
- my fave for small areas, like around the hairline
ROOT VANISH by Kazumi--A uniquely lightweight & gel-based "edibly natural" instant hair colorant that makes Root & Greys vanish, without the mess & dullness of other methods. Kazumi is a Master Colorist at the salon where Zooey frequents, so I had to try it. You click the "pen" and place the brush with colorant onto roots. Then comb it into and allow to dry. I like using a hair dryer to dry it faster.

Thanks for sharing! I really love #1 and #2, they sound amazing. I'd love to try them. I don't have any gray hairs but I do dye my hair so of course my roots grow out. If I tried to dye my whole head every time my roots started to show, my hair would be extremely damaged (if I even had any left, LOL). I definitely want to try some of these!

ReplyDeleteHi Elle, I had no idea about these products before, I am definitely going to recommend them to a few friends who I know will find it very very helpful.
ReplyDeleteno grey hair here yet. I will be keeping these product in mind for when it does start happening.
ReplyDeleteMy hair is slowly starting to go grey so I'm glad you shared these. I'll keep them in mind for sure!
ReplyDeleteThese look very interesting. I have super bright hair and I dye my hair often to prevent roots but I would totally recommend this product to a few people.

How neat... never seen anything like this!
ReplyDeleteI hadn't heard of these products. I was very fortunate that I didn't see any gray hairs until after I turned forty. Right now, Natural Instinct works pretty well to cover the grays I have. But when things get worse, I'll definitely check out some of these.
ReplyDeleteYou know I thought about getting something like this a long time ago and then forgot :-) Thanks for the reminder especially when you are due for a touch up!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing! I definitely need this post and these tips. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing! I'm not grey (yet) but my roots do grow in really quickly. Unfortunately since I dye my hair red it's really hard to find root concealers to match my hair, but those Focus Fibers look like they might work!!
ReplyDeleteThe Kazumi ones sound great. I've been getting grey hairs since high school, so I colour my hair a lot to cover them. Sigh....
ReplyDeleteOh, this is super useful, this post, I mean! I have a friend from school, that with only 32 is now really going grey fast, and she is really obsessed about it. I can say it changed her life. So I will recommend this post to her and also, who knows? I will keep this in mind as well. We're all going to get grey one day, it's just a matter of "when". But you know what? Also for people who change hair color, say, from brunette to red. As I said, a great post! denisesplanet com
ReplyDeleteI totally started going gray early (thanks Mom) so I love these options. I haven't heard of them before so going to check them out. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThese sound great!
ReplyDeleteI saw that WOW on QVC and everyone was raving about it! I have grays too, so this will help inbetween touch ups. Didn't know they sold it at ULTA. It's probably so much cheaper. Thanks for the tip.

nice! but thanks genetics I still don't need any, fingers crossed!
ReplyDeletehave a great week,

How long does the cover last, compared to a good ol' hair color? I'd prefer just coloring my hair or touching the roots "the normal way" whenever needed than using powders or sprays, but I guess this stuff comes in handy when you have some event or some sort of emergency.
ReplyDeleteI found my what I think was my first gray hair recently and it was rough hahhaha! I feel much better now knowing I'm not the only youngster going grey early :) I'll have to check into some of these products for sure hehe.
ReplyDeleteI read about that the first root coverage is awesome…too bad I don't dye my hair. <3

It isn't easy finding products in this department that works. Thank you for this.
ReplyDeleteAlso, is there an online site you prefer to buy these products from?
Shanna from Because Shanna Said So loves the Color Wow! I really want to try it sometime!
ReplyDeleteI love this post. I'm not gray but I have several stark white hairs on the top of my head most noticeable at my part. These would be great to try in b/w salon visits! I saw an infomercial of the WOW powder but I'm happy to know they sell it at Ulta. Perhaps I'll try it out there. Thanks for writing this up!
ReplyDeleteAck, they are expensive! But... it do have grey at my temples, so... I will check into them.
