Beauty Quick Tip For Fine Lines

Hey you! We made it to Friday. I'm still in denial because this week was so long. I'm also in denial on the new fine lines that have decided to take up residence on my face. Maybe it's my age, maybe it's the stress of this year, or maybe I'm the only one who notices it, but I am not feeling those fine lines.

But I have been doing something the past few months that has been working on them and it was a bit of an accident.

I go back and forth on eye creams. Do they work? Are they unnecessary? After seeing those lines pop up, I knew I had to get on a routine.

I've also had fine lines appear around my lips. This was something I wasn't expecting since I'm not a smoker. Was it from occasionally using straws? All of that whistling as a kid? I'm kidding, but seriously, one day I dabbed the extra eye cream (I am admittedly heavy-handed with products sometimes) around my mouth at night. I hate wasting product, so I decided to give it a couple of months. I might have looked a little crazy.

But y'all,

it worked.

I like eye creams from Neutrogena, ROC, Vichy, and Olay. For high-end, Bobbi Brown, Algenist, and Lancome have been favorites, but I am open to suggestions!

So try it and let me know what you think!

  1. Roc is really the best, in my opinion, but the other brands are also great, of course! I think that spraying Avene water before the cream is also good, but I am not an expert about lines, so I stick to saying that ROC is great!

  3. I have never even thought about fine lines! Now I'm scared to look closely in the mirror. When I do decide its a problem I'll probably go for something cheap like Neutrogena. I made tacos this week with ground turkey and with the leftovers I made a fantastic burrito bowl!

  4. Haha I've been trying eye cream around my lips for those fine lines too. I've only been doing it for about a week but I'm glad to hear it worked for you! I swear it has to be from straws (and doing the fish face lol).

  8. I love my Artistry eye cream, I think it helps my fine lines, but I smile a lot so they will always be there ;)!

I ate mushroom ravioli for dinner on Monday that was delicious and last night we had slow cooker bbq chicken, yum.

  9. Awesome idea to use the eye cream around our lips too! I've been noticing the lines around my eyes, and I'm just at a loss as what I should use. Everything I've used so far doesn't work, but I should try out Neutrogena :)

  10. Never thought of using eye ream for lips area but I'll try it. Anything that could delay those pesky fine lines are fine by me. I have read good things about Roc but never personally tried them.

  11. I haven't thought to to that but it totally makes sense to use eye cream around the lips to prevent lines. There was a ROC eye cream that I really liked.

  13. You know, that totally makes sense but I never would have thought to try it. But now I'm on board for sure! I use Burts Bees eye cream usually... I like it fine but I've never really found any eye cream that has wowed me.

  14. I love this tip and I will be giving it a try. I haven't seen those lines yet, but prevention is key!

  17. Fortunately I don't need this yet, but this is a great tip. I know my nan used to do this and I thought it was funny when I was younger, but it's such a good beauty idea.

  22. I always recommend my mum to use Sensai products! It's a little pricey, but it's such a luxurious and amazing brand.

  23. I slather the stuff on my t-zone for this very reason; fine lines are definitely not kind enough to only appear by our eyes ;) Glad this worked for you!

  24. you are brilliant. i still haven't found an eye cream i like, but when i do i will try it around my lips. i have bad lines around my lips because of straws and such, they aren't noticeable unless i do like duck face, so i just try not to do duck face lol

i just ate fried rice. that probably doesn't help you, but it was amazing. haha.

  30. Ok I am so glad you shared this! I don't have fine lines around my eyes yet, but I am religious about eye creams twice a day. I do have forehead lines from typical expression that I try to discourage from turning into actual fine lines. I've been using retinol, but I will use my eye cream now too!

  31. I like using eye creams, but I don't have a favorite. I'm using a sample from Perricone MD that's okay so far. That's such an expensive brand that I sort of don't want to love it. Still don't know about it...

  32. So going to have to try this out. Have a great weekend

  33. Girl I noticed when taking photos that I'm starting to have this awkward "sag" around my mouth where my dimples are. It's noticeable when I'm not smiling. I did a TON of online research on almost every miracle cream you've ever heard of and didn't feel comfortable with any of them. More than a month ago I switched to an all natural way of cleansing my face so I went into the organic health story and the guy gave me Rosehip seed oil. I kid you not my skin looks like I had some amazing facial when I woke up in the morning!

  34. I've used a number of eye creams for my line liners under my eyes. I like them but I don't really see any results with them. Maybe I need a new brand, or I might just use coconut pil. Good idea about about the mouth area though!

I'm currently tryout out a vegan diet so the best thing I ate this week was some tacos I made. I sautéed corn, black beans and green chilies. Used corn tortillas and topped with guacamole, salsa and lettuce. Even if someone is not vegan, it's still a new mix up for tacos!

  35. Ahhh, i love back-to-school time, even though i haven't been in school in a decade!!!

  36. Hehe. Great tip! I definitely have some fine lines and more creeping in daily. Actually, I don't think its strange to use eye cream around the mouth. In fact, I've done it on occasion and I notice that some brands make eye/lip duo treatments. :-)

  37. The eye cream I use is actually lip and eye cream so I use it on both too! Such a genius idea!

  38. What a great tip! I've got tons of different eye creams that I use every so often so I'm not really dedicated to a certain brand.

  39. I would have never thought to do that! I'll definitely have to keep it in mind!

  40. Great tip! I don't know why I never thought to do that.

  43. Great tip! I have a line on the left side of my right brow from squinting so much as a kid (I'm so blind) and I massage it 2 or 3 times a day with some Vaseline. Works great.

Also for a food idea, try balsamic portabello mushrooms. Sooooo tasty.

  46. Just this year I've started to notice smile lines around my eyes. I'm not going to lie - I don't mind them. I'm sure I'll mind more when they are more noticeable or in other places, but so far it's been kind of a nice thing. A reminder of all the laughing I've done in my life. :) I do need to start using a more serious moisturizer, though. I know you mentioned a couple of brands - do you have an specific favorites?
